History of the Third Reich in Berlin
- We'll start with a tour of the Reichstag building, where you'll have the opportunity to learn about its history and importance in German politics. You'll also have the chance to go up to the rooftop terrace, where you'll get a fantastic panoramic view of Berlin.
- Then, we'll visit the Memorial to the Sinti and Roma Victims of National Socialism. This memorial is a tribute to the thousands of Sinti and Roma people persecuted and killed by the Nazis during World War II. The memorial is a sad reminder of the atrocities committed during that time and serves as a testament to the resilience of the Sinti and Roma people.
- From there, we'll head to the iconic Brandenburg Gate. This landmark has been a symbol of Berlin and Germany for over 200 years. It is a must-see attraction and an excellent spot for taking pictures.
- Our next stop is the Memorial to Homosexuals Persecuted Under Nazism. This memorial is located near the Brandenburg Gate and serves as a reminder of the persecution and discrimination faced by the LGBTQ+ community during the Nazi regime.
- Continue to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. This haunting memorial is a tribute to the six million Jews killed during the Holocaust. The Memorial comprises 2,711 concrete slabs of varying heights arranged in a grid pattern. It is a powerful and emotional experience that is not to be missed.
- We'll then go to the Topography of Terror, which is located near the site of the former Gestapo headquarters. This museum comprehensively examines the Nazi regime and its impact on Germany and the world. It is a sobering experience but important for understanding the history of Germany and the Holocaust.
- Afterwards, we'll proceed to the Federal Ministry of Finance, the former Ministry of Aviation during the Nazi era. This building played a significant role in the war effort and now serves as a reminder of Germany's dark past.
- Finally, we'll end our tour at the site of Hitler's bunker, which is located in the Ministergärten. Although there is no physical monument or structure, this location serves as a reminder of the evil perpetrated during the Nazi regime and the importance of remembering history lessons.
