Hike through the trails of Mount Everest nation with a sightseeing tour at Kathmandu and fly/drive to Pokhara and Jomson. Begin trekking to the Upper Mustang from Kagbeni through several trails and overnight stays in different villages while you cross other serene geographies with mountain valleys and ridges with the help of expert guides.   • Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel expand_more
    • Your tour guide will pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu, who will be waiting with a sign board with your name written on it. Drive to your hotel in Kathmandu.
    • After freshening up, meet your tour guide and discuss the program. 

    Enjoy a typical Nepali welcome dinner and stay the night at the hotel in the evening.

  • Day 2: Guided Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley expand_more
    • The following day after breakfast, go for a full-day sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu valley.

    • Visit the Pashupatinath Hindu Temple and Swyambhunath Stupa, Nepal's ancient and historical pride, which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.

    • Visit the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist Stupas in the world. After this, you can visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, the traditional heart of Kathmandu, famous for fine arts and historical architecture reflecting Nepalese culture's uniqueness and diversity.

    • On the way back to the hotel, travel around the local areas and streets of Kathmandu and observe the lifestyle of the people. Take a relaxed walk through the famous streets like Thamel, the city's main nightlife zone.

  • Day 3: Fly/Drive to Pokhara 827m (40 minute Flight, 7hrs. Drive) expand_more
    • Leave Kathmandu and start your 6-hour-long journey to Pokhara in a tourist coach via the scenic Prithvi highway.

    • Stop for lunch on the way. On arrival at Pokhara, the bus will drop you at the hotel. Enjoy welcome drinks in the hotel, along with some refreshments. 

    • In the evening, go for a boating trip on Phewa Lake, where you can enjoy the spectacular views of the Annapurna Himalayan Range reflected in all its glory in the calm green waters of the lake. Visit the Barahi Temple at Bhaktapur, which is only accessible by boat. If you take a flight, it takes about 45 minutes. 

    Stay the night at the guesthouse.

  • Day 4: Pokhara - Jomsom 2700m (Trek to Kagbeni 2810m./3hrs) expand_more
    • Wake up early in the morning and leave for Jomson. Fly northwest from Pokhara towards the great portal between the snow-covered peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Enjoy the well-raised massifs of more than 8000 meters and the deepest gorge on this planet.
    • On arrival to Jomson, meet the rest of the trekking staff and start trekking towards Kagbeni, the main gate to Upper Mustang, for 3 hours. 

    Stay the night at a guesthouse. 

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  • Day 5: Trek to Tsele 3050m./ 6-7 hrs expand_more
    • Start trekking to Tsele, which will take around 6-7 hours. The trail leads up towards the east bank of the Kaligandaki, climbing over many ridges as it heads north and reaches Tangbe village. The town is a labyrinth of narrow alleys amongst white-washed houses, fields of buckwheat, barley, wheat and apple orchards.

    • The Nilgiri peak dominates the southern skyline of Kagbeni, all the way by different shapes. Beyond Tangbe, you will reach Chhusang village in about 1/2 hr, then trek and cross the river, which continues north, climbing up to a huge red chunk of conglomerate that has fallen from the cliff above, forming a tunnel that the Kaligandaki follows.

    • The trek leaves the Kali Gandaki valley and climbs steeply up a rocky gully to Chaile. From here, the culture changes from Manangi to Lo's Tibetan culture.

  • Day 6: Trek to Syangboche 3800m./ 7hrs expand_more
    • Continue with your trek towards Syangboche. The climb continues along steep, treeless, waterless terrain, along the side of the spectacular steep canyon to a pass and cairn of rock.

    • Then the trail makes a long gradual descent to some chortens (Buddhist shrines) on a ridge and with a further descent before coming along a pleasant trail to Samar village.

    • Climb above Samar to a ridge, descend into a large gorge, which the trail goes into another valley field, crosses a stream and climbs up to a ridge at 3800 meters.

    • The route climbs over yet another pass, follows a ridge and then descends to Syangboche.

  • Day 7: Trek to Tsarang 3560m./6-7 hrs expand_more
    • From Syangbuchen, the trail quickly climbs and continues towards the upper Ghiling village. Then, gently climb up to an interesting pass, Nyi La and descend below the blue, grey and red cliffs.

    • After crossing a steel bridge of the Tangmar Chu (river), you will arrive at the Mani Wall, the longest and most spectacular wall made of stones in Nepal. Climbing over another pass at 3600 meters, the route makes a long gentle descent to Tsarang village.

    • Visit the major attractions, the huge five-story white Dzong and Red Gompa and observe collections of statues and Thankas and many large paintings of seated Buddhas.

  • Day 8: Trek to Lo Manthang 3810m./4hrs expand_more
    • Follow the trail to reach Lo Manthang with some minor climbing.

    • When you reach the ridge, you can see views of the walled city of Lo. After a short descent, cross a stream and climb up into the plateau of Lo Manthang.

  • Day 9: Sightseeing in Lo Manthang Walled City expand_more
    • Do sightseeing in Lo Manthang walled city. Visit different monasteries and the Old Palace and observe the local tradition and culture of the city. 

    • Go to Chhur cave which is 2 hours away from the city, through a horse ride or drive by jeep, depending on availability. 

    • Return to Lo Manthang and stay the night.

  • Day 10: Namgyal Monastery and Tingkhar Village expand_more
    • Travel for 2 hours to visit the Namgyal Gompa. The Namgyal Gompa, situated on a hilltop, serves as an important monastery and a local court for the local community.

    • After visiting Namgyal Gompa, continue the tour to Tingkhar, the last main village northwest of Lo Manthang with around 40 houses.

    • After visiting Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar, return to Lomanthang and stay the night at the guesthouse.

  • Day 11: Cross Chogo - La 4280m.- Ghar Gumba - Drakmaar.6/hrs expand_more
    • After breakfast at the Lo-Manthang guesthouse, follow the northwest uphill trail to the Cho la pass. After that, the trail goes down to the Ghar Monastery.

    • When you reach the Ghar Gompa, there is a little climb up to the hills, then come down to Drakmar. You will either stay the night at Drakmar or continue for 1 hour towards Ghami.

  • Day 12: Trek to Ghiling 3570m./6hrs expand_more
    • Follow the same trails towards Ghiling, as you did earlier, for about 6 hours. Stay the night at Ghiling, a typical old Nepalese village.

    • Go for a short stint of sightseeing there to visit the old monastery and village.

  • Day 13: Trek to Chhusang 2980m./6-7hrs expand_more
    • Leave Ghiling and start trekking on the trail that climbs up to Syangboche. Cross the hill and trek down to Chhusang as you did before.

    Overnight stay at Chhuksang.

  • Day 14: Trek to Jomsom expand_more
    • Trek back to Jomsom, which is an easy walk, but it takes around 7 hours to reach with the wind. Check out of the Upper Mustang part at Kagbeni check post, have lunch and continue walking towards Jomsom.

  • Day 15: Jomson - Fly/Drive to Pokhara expand_more
    • Leave Jomson and start your journey back to Pokhara either by bus, which will take about 9 hours to reach through bumpy roads or take a flight which will take only 20 minutes to reach Pokhara.

  • Day 16: Drive/Fly to Kathmandu expand_more
    • Leave Pokhara and start your journey back to Kathmandu. It will take around 7 hours by tourist transport and 40 minutes by flight to reach Kathmandu.

  • Day 17: Departure expand_more
    • Meet your tour guides at the hotel, where they will provide you with transport to Tribhuvan International Airport for departure.
