Begin the tour with a pickup from suggested places around Hanoi Old Quarter in the morning and depart for Ninh Binh province (90km south of Hanoi). Have a 20-minute break en route to stretch your legs.
Arrive in Hoa Lu, once depicted as the ancient capital of Vietnam, and visit the temples of the two dynasties of Dinh and Le, with unique architecture.
Learn more about ancient culture through an excavation in the 10th century on the grounds of the royal places.
Arrive in Tam Coc. Relax and enjoy lunch in a nice restaurant nearby.
Board the sampan boats (2 people share a boat) at Tam Coc dock to drift down the river among the villages, mountains and lush rice fields.
Pass through 3 caves, Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba.
Return to the dock for a bus drive back to Hanoi.
Reach Hanoi by evening.
