8-Day Private Morocco Tour from Tangier with Desert Camp Stay

• Our private driver will pick you up from your accommodation or the airport to begin your 8-day private tour from Tangier. Our first destination will be the Hercules Cave, which represents the opening to the sea toward Europe. This opening is shaped like the map of Africa. Then, we will visit the Kasbah Museum, a Mediterranean museum built in the 19th century.
• At the end of the day, we will drive toward Chefchaouen. You will have dinner and spend the night in one of its luxurious hotels.

• After breakfast, we will leave Chefchaouen and head toward Fez via the city of Ouazzane, arriving at the Roman city of Volubilis, which is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After taking fantastic photos in this incredible city, we will continue to Meknes, the imperial city of Morocco.
• We will visit Bab Mansour Gate in the center of the city and Bab El-Khemiss Gate, then the Mellah of the ancient medina.
• At the end of the day, we will drive toward Fez, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

• This day is dedicated to discovering the spiritual and scientific city of Fez, where the most important historical sites and places are gathered, such as Madrasa Attarine (Attarine School), Nejjarine Fountain, Quaraouine Mosque (the first university in the world), the Royal Palace with its famous golden gates, the tanneries, and many others. You will learn more about them throughout the day.
• Go to Medina Fez El Bali, the ancient medina. You will be excited to explore the ancient culture that brings together Islamic and Jewish religions and cultures.
• Then, head to Souk El Attarine. It is the souk of the grocers and the most colourful public market in Fez.
• Next, visit Nejjarine. This small square takes its name from the cabinetmakers who work in the stalls of the neighbourhood. A wonderful fountain made of zellij, the traditional mosaic, and a carved wooden pediment decorate the square.
• Continue to the Quaraouine Mosque and University, established in 862 by a Muslim woman named Fatima El Fihria from Quairaouan. It is the oldest university in the Arab Islamic world.
• Afterwards, proceed to Moulay Idriss, where there is the tomb of Moulay Idriss II, the founder of Fez. It represents a holy and sacred place in Fez.
• Now, explore Medersa Bou Inania, an Islamic university built between 1350 and 1357 by the Merinid Sultan Abu Inane, whose architecture is one of the masterpieces of Moorish art. Medersa Attarine is a Koranic school built in 1323 by the Merinid Sultan Abu Said, whose decoration is of extreme finesse and attracts visitors.

• After breakfast, we will leave the hotel and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Arriving at the cedar forest, we will meet the monkeys waiting at the side of the road. We will take a short break to experience the life of wild Morocco as we continue our journey through the Middle Atlas, its green valleys, and mountain panoramas.
• We will stop for lunch in a Berber village, then continue through the villages until we arrive at the dunes of Merzouga, where the camels will be waiting for us to begin our walk in the desert. You will enjoy a beautiful sunset behind the dunes of Merzouga.
• Upon arrival at the center of the dune, you will prepare your belongings in the tents. After walking in the dunes and enjoying the silence that helps you relax, you will have dinner and enjoy traditional Berber music, with accommodation in the camp.

• We will wake up early to watch the breathtaking sunrise in Merzouga, then have a traditional local breakfast to start our day experiencing unique activities in the Moroccan Desert, beginning with camel trekking. You will ride camels on the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, take outstanding photos, and then try sandboarding.
• You will enjoy these activities before heading to the nomadic tent, where you will have a local dinner, listen to some Gnawa music, and then spend the night in the heart of the desert under the stars.

• After breakfast, we will drive toward Dades Valley and Ouarzazate. Dades Valley is known as the Land of Thousand Kasbahs, making it a wonderful place that offers opportunities to take some of your best tour photos.
• Head to Ouarzazate, and we will pass by Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest kasbah in Morocco, built by T-Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chiefs of the early twentieth century, and considered one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
• Afterwards, we will hit the road through the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the panoramic views and the attractive Berber villages on the way to Marrakech, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

This day is dedicated to the discovery of the Red City. We will start by discovering the Menara Gardens and the Koutoubia Mosque, or the Mosque of the Booksellers. This name was taken from its location on the ancient souq of manuscripts, where the Saadian Tombs are also located.

• Afterwards, we will head to the medina, where you can explore the busy streets and do some shopping if you want to get some souvenirs. Then, head to the famous Jamaa El Fna square, which is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will discover storytellers, snake charmers, and monkey players, in addition to having the chance to try the traditional restaurants.

We will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel in Marrakech.

• On the last day, our private driver will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport.
