Description

Embark on a short trip to Colombo to celebrate the auspicious festival of Vesak, also known as Buddha Purnima, with the locals. Look at the fully lit up houses with colourful lights and lanterns and marvel at the beautifully decorated streets. Engage in lantern preparation activity, then head to the temple to lit oil lamps and finally, enjoy the festival.

    • At 10:00 am, meet your tour guide at the hotel lobby where you stay.
    • Drive home and make your own lanterns. (all materials will be supplied)
    • In the evening, hang the lanterns in the garden and then go to a temple to light oil lamps with the locals.
    • Join the almsgiving activity in the evening. (all prepared by the guide)
    • Later, drive back to the hotel while watching the colourful roadside decorations until midnight.
  • Day 2- Vesak Festival expand_more
    • At 5:00 pm, meet your tour guide at the hotel lobby, and walk through the roads and Vesak lantern competition zones. (Please remember there are too many people on the roads)
    • Late night, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

    End the program.
