4 Days Culture tour itinerary for sri-lanka: Enact The Epic Ramayana Saga

Trail the most important sites as per the Ramayana, with visits to Bhakta Hanuman Temple, Sita Amman Kovil and the Asoka Vatika. Specially crafted for Indian travellers, this religious tour also takes you to an Elephant orphanage, Temple of Tooth Relic and fun-filled water activities.

DAY 01


  • Meet and Greet with your dedicated Sri Lanka guide at the Airport.

  • Proceed to Kandy via Pinnewala.

  • En-route visit the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage, home to approx 60 elephants. Watch the baby elephants play and bathe in the river; watch them being fed, or feed them yourself (optional).

  • Thereafter proceed to Kandy with a stop at a spice garden-route to witness how the traditional spices are grown (Mawanella)

  • Reach Kandy and check-in at the hotel.

  • Shop in Kandy, known for exotic arts and crafts and world-famous gemstones

  • Visit the Temple of Tooth, the most venerated city of Sri Lana where Lord Buddha’s Tooth Relic calls home. This is approximately three hours’ drive. Upon check-in at the hotel, spend some relaxing time on your first day during the Ramayana Tour of Sri Lanka. In the evening, pay homage to theTemple of Tooth Relic and observe the centuries-old rituals of Buddhist worshipers.

DAY 02


  • After breakfast at the Hotel, proceed to Nuwara Eliya via Ramboda.

  • Stop by Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda. According to the legend, this is where Hanuman searched for Sita in the jungles above and behind the temple. Bhakta Hanuman Temple is an important place in Ramayana Tour of Sri Lanka.

  • Visit Seetha Amman Temple of Nuwara Eliya, the place believed to be the exact place where Sita was held captive by the demon-king Ravana in the Lanka of the epic, Ramayana. Myth has it that Sita, the wife of King Rama, was imprisoned in the Ashoka forests of the region. The temple trustees believe that this is no myth and that Sita's imprisonment at this spot is a historical fact. Any Indian, must-visit Sita Amman Temple during their Ramayana Tour of Sri Lanka.

  • Explore Asoka Vatika, now known as Hakgala Botanical Garden. It says Sri Lankan demon King Ravana after abducting Sita, kept her hidden in this area and area was offered to Sita as a pleasure garden, Hakgala Gardens mentioned in the Ramayana as Ashok Vatika. The area was named as "Sita Eliya" and "Sita Amman Temple" was built on the site. Asoka Vatika, a not to miss place during your Ramayana Tour of Sri Lanka.

DAY 03


  • After breakfast at the hotel, proceed Bentota via Kitulgala.

  • Do Kitulgala water rafting [optional]

  • Reach Bentota & check-in at hotel.

  • Relax at the beach.

DAY 04


  • Proceed to Colombo via Madu River.

  • Go for a Madu Ganga River Safari.

  • Commence the city tour of Colombo with a visit to the Fort and the Pettah commercial hub with offices and shopping areas located amidst oldest colonial hotel GOH. It has a fantastic view of the Colombo harbour, the lighthouse with clock tower (older than Big Ben in London) close to the president’s house and old parliament.

  • Afterwards, proceed through the main street passing the old Dutch Museum, belfry and old City Hall which houses puppets of earlier governors of Sri Lanka. 

  • Stop at the Old Dutch hospital with shops and restaurants facing Sri Lanka’s twin tower buildings.

  • Continue to the old racecourse with a maze of buildings with colonial architecture, restaurants and shopping arcade passing through Colombo City Hall (mini replica of the White House in Washington, DC).

  • Enjoy shopping in Colombo.

  • Proceed to the airport with lingering memories of your trip to Sri Lanka.

  • The flexibility of 2 or 3 hours early check-in and late checkout could be arranged if the hotel does not have high occupancy.

  • The consumption of alcohol during “Poya Days” at bars, clubs and other public areas of the hotel and operation of similar forms of entertainment establishments is prohibited by law in Sri Lanka.   • All transfer times mentioned above are subject to variations depending on traffic flow and road conditions.

Cancellation policy:

  • Cancellations made less than 21 days to the arrival date: 50% of total the total stay.

  • Cancellations made less than 14 days to the arrival date: 75% of the total stay.

  • Cancellations made less than 07 days to the arrival date: 100% of the total stay.

  • No Shows: 100 % of the total stay & one-way transfer.

  • Very Early Arrivals or Departures: 100% of the total stay will be applicable.

  • Bookings cancelled 7 days before the arrival will be considered as a No-Show.
