Visit the fascinating city of the Nabateans in the deserts of Jordan, just a couple of hours' drive away from the capital Amman. Once a flourishing commercial empire that banked on its sophisticated water system, Petra, in its ruins now, continues to stun visitors worldwide. Explore the Royal Tombs, see the Siq, and observe the magnificent Treasury.

  • Day 1: Arrival at Amman Airport to Amman Hotel expand_more
    • Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport, our representative will meet you at the exit gate.

    • Transfer (about 50 minutes) to Amman, the capital of the country, stretching over 19 hills.

    • Short drive around to get an impression of this modern city before your escort takes you to the hotel.

    • Check-in, and spend the remainder of the day at leisure on your own.

  • Day 2: Amman to Petra to Amman expand_more
    • At 07:30 am, get picked up from the hotel lobby and drive 2.5 hours via the Desert Highway to the rock city Petra, Jordan's main attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Petra was established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs; a nomadic tribe settled in the area. With a sophisticated water supply and distribution system, the city could prosper, and the Nabateans founded a commercial empire that extended into Syria and controlled the main caravan routes at that time.

    • Meet your private guide at the Visitors Centre and start the tour on horseback or on foot to the Siq, the narrow canyon with some votive niches.

    • At the end of this gorge, you will see the most beautiful monument of Petra, the Treasury, also known as Al Khazneh.

    • Continue along the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle.

    • Free time on your own before you return, in the afternoon, to your Amman hotel for overnight.

  • Day 3: Departure expand_more
    • Have breakfast and check out by 12:00 noon, latest.

    • Transfer to Amman Airport to say farewell and board your flight.

    For this tour to visit a few attractions in Jordan, I did not have a tour guide, instead a driver was assigned to me to drive me around the places I signed for.  Osama, the driver, was really good.  He picked me up in the hotels where I stayed, and always on time, and took good care of me.  On my last day in Jordan, I went to Aqaba, and at the end of the day, Osama invited me, and the other person doing this tour, to have dinner, all Jordan dishes, at his cousin's apartment.  Dinner was delicious.  Thank you Osama and his relatives who were very at the dinner and we were treated really good.

    Overall Petra Tours satisfied my expectations.  Mohammed, the one in charge from his Petra office, always responded to all my emails, answering my questions when I was inquiring about the tour, itinerary, and prices.  In Petra, he came to the hotel to find out how was I doing and to know if everything was OK.  

    Hotels were not luxurious but adequate and clean and OK locations.  The hotel in Petra was the one I did not like much and the manager or supervisor was not friendly and in need of attitude adjustment.  The TV was not working and neither the phone,  When I went to the reception to report this, he asked me, in a tone I did not like, "are you going to make any calls?" I said Yes, to call you to report what was not working in the room.  Other thatn this incident, everything else was fine.

    I have to say our tour was FAB. Our driver, Khalab was very good and took good care of us. We got to see soooo much of your country in such a short time, but would have loved to stay and see more! There is sooo much to see there!

    We ran into a co-worker from the ship in Jerash who offered to take us to lunch. After speaking with Khalab though, we were not able to go. Khalab said that our lunch was included and probably thought that he was going to kidnap us! He was very protective which was really nice. He definitely was a great driver and drove us everywhere.

    The only real downer was the guide at Petra. We got there at about 3pm and met with him. He really rushed us through. As we got to the center of Petra we decided to split up as 3 wanted to climb and the other 4 wanted to go to the monastery. The guide negotiated prices for the mules for us. When we got to the end of Petra he left us as did the guy he negotiated with leaving us with a teenager and a boy that was probably 6-7 years old to take us to the monastery. After a few steps going up my friend's mule who was in front of me, started to go to the edge by the crevice, slipped and at that point the saddle and my friend fell to the ground. I was the last so my mule saw the other mules up ahead and began to run up the steps to get with them. No one was supervising anything. My mule went off the steps to the left where there were no steps and slipped making me fall off my mule. Fortunately neither of us was hurt but it could have been really bad if my friend had fallen into the crevice and if we had broken anything. We were just bruised and cut a bit.

    Other than that we had a wonderful tour and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Many, many thanks for arranging everything and allowing us to see your wonderful country. I would definitely recommend you.

    We come from  usa We don’t know much about Jordan. Petra mountains tour give us the best service ever! Our driver (mr. Khalid) he is friendly and very helpful . And the price is cheaper than the other

    The Company's agent provides us nice service along with nice hotel facilities and the proper tourist guide..was also amazing. Overall no problems faced during the tour, so I fully recommended all traveler to book with this company.
