best guide, ever

Reviewed August 11, 2014

I was flying to Nepal in October 2013, and through speaking with my seat neighbors got the contact information of Kami. Having been to Nepal many times, myself, I felt as though I would recommend to my father and friend that we forgo hiring a guide on our Everst Basecamp trek. In addition to my fluency in Nepali, I had spent several years working and conducting research in the furthers NW district of Humla. I felt like we could navigate the trails and lodges and passes ourselves. But, I am ineffably grateful that we contacted Kami, and he was free. He was the kindest, most knowledgable guide we could have asked for. He got us beds in all-booked up lodges, he knew everyone we passed on the trail, and his knowledge of the Khumbu region - his home - was spectacular and forthcoming. In addition, he carried a stellar camera and took some of the most beautiful shots from our entire trip. I highly recommend him!

Kami was a wonderful guide, very experienced but also approachable. He worked well with our porters and us ensuring that he motivated us but also listened to our concerns. I would pick kami every time!

Langtang valley and Ganja la pass

Reviewed August 10, 2014

In november 2012 we booked our trip to Nepal. We were very lucky to meet Kami and to trek with him and two sherpa's for 10 days thru the Lang Tang Valley and over the Ganja La pass. The Lang Tang Valley was beautiful and we had a lot of fun. Kami is a very good guide, with a lot of knowledge about the whole region. We loved talking to him and the sherpa's about there lives in Nepal and we even learned some Nepalese. The Ganja La pass was very difficult and under heavy snow conditions, but mostly beacuse of Kami and the shepa's we made it. They can make a fire on a mountain ridge, prepare food at 5000 meter and it tastes excellent. If you want he can milk a yak :-). Thoughout the whole trip we felt safe and reassured and very happy that we met Kami.
