Andreas Groenewald - Green Mountain Trail

Reviewed May 23, 2016

We recently spent a few days walking the Green Mountain Trail with Andreas. The experience was one of the best we have had in the hands of a field guide. He was knowledgeable, humble, caring and very keen to share information with us. It was very rewarding to watch a man, so intimately involved in his subject, sharing his passion with us in the most unique way. Highly recommended.

Infectious Enthusiasm!

Reviewed May 19, 2016

We loved our hikes with Andreas. His genuine enthusiasm is infectious and makes one feel inspired to learn more about fynbos, birds, archaeology and local history. He is incredibly knowledgeable but also makes the subjects interesting by adding lots of stories, anecdotes and little known facts. Fynbos is not just fynbos for him ... he fleshes out the experience by discussing its practical and medicinal uses (thereby making it all the more memorable). The same applies to the topography of the area where he can add myth, lore and legend as well as fantastic insights into the fascinating history of the Cape and surrounds. I would highly recommend taking a hike with Andreas!

Outstanding hiking

Reviewed March 24, 2016

Andreas is so much more than just a guide! His profound knowledge of the fauna, flora, geology and climatology of the areas he guides in captivates. Hiking with Andreas connecting me with a very real and gently powerful presence, our incredible Fynbos heritage. His unpretentious and intelligent way of communication made us all feel like long-time friends. Our whole group was quite taken by the experience and we have been back for more hiking.  Every time is simply a starburst experience.
