Indika was our guide in SL during the troubled and stressful times of the COVID-19. Despite many tourist parks and places of interest beginning to close around us he still managed to fill our days with new sights and wonders in this amazing island. Full of knowledge and resourses Indika is also a fun person to be with, never ever showing the strain of the day even when I new he was tired. He always took the time to detail the significance or history of a place we visited with great patience. Great sense of humour and nothing was ever a problem even when plans changed suddenly. He was instrumenal in making our rather fractured holiday still fun and enjoyable as he went out of his way to keep us safe at all times.  

Returning to SL after nearly 50 years, bringing my wife and 2 sons who had never been here before meant this was a rather significant holiday. Indika understood this and it seemed to be significant for him too. Indika is a honourable hard working kind man. As he dropped us off at the Airport we said goodbye to a good friend. He will be our driver again when I return. Many many thanks.

Indika wasn't just a guide, he was a friend and a highly valuable asset to us on our trip, amidst this horrible virus outbreak. He worked incredibly hard to ensure our trip was safe and enjoyable despite most public venues begging to close down. If I return to Sri Lanka I wouldn't think twice about hiring Indika again, so welcoming and full of life, and a great conversationalist too! 

Indika was recommended to us by a friend who already travelled with him - and we were as happy as she was. From start to finish Indika always took very good care of us.

Planning the tour:

We planned the tour together before arrival via what's app. He made a suggestion and together we made a plan that fit our needs. However, when we sometimes changed the plans spontaneously during the trip (stay one more night or less, add a detour, etc) that was no problem at all. He never made the impression anything we asked for was too much trouble.   

The tour:

Indika is a very safe driver. He showed us amazing places for food and culture which we wouldnt have experienced without him  and he had great knowledge of his country and the history (that saves money for guided tours ;)). He always looked out for us but gave us privacy and time for ourselves whenever we wanted. He made travelling easy yet interesting. E.g. he told us to better take the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella (2hrs) instead of Kandy to Ella (7 hrs) - like every blog on the internet - and we are happy that we followed his advice because we had two hours of great scenery but wouldnt want to have sit in the train longer. He also arranged a great Safari at Udawalawe.  After our tour we spent some days at the beach alone but Indika was still available when needed - he would definitely always go the extra mile. So just tell him what you want to do and go from there together. We preferred to book the homestays/hotels we slept on by ourselves (but Indika could also do that). 

Overall we would always explore this outstanding country with a driver again (please note that it is not much more expensive than going from A to B with seperate drivers, but here you have someone 24/7) and we would always choose Indika again. He is a very kind and honourable man.  His English is very good and we had a lot of fun together.

We are a couple from Sweden that recently visited Sri Lanka for a couple of weeks. We traveled with Mr Ranasinga for 9 days in total and had a marvelous time. We started along the southwestern coast (negombo, hikkaduwa & weligama) and finished our trip inland (kandy, dambulla & kurunegala)

We didn't know much about what to do and see around each location. But Indika helped us figure it out as we went. His english was easy for us to understand and was also very friendly to us which helped to make our holiday fantastic.
