Mirabel had no time to plan our sightseeing  as I did not book her until an hour before meeting her, yet she was able to put together two days of very memorable tour, all on a moment's notice.  Yet,  during two days we spend together, she showed us north and south, west and east of Malta. We experienced the boat ride to Blue Grotto, the rotunda in Mosta, strolled the streets of Mdina,  dined in the fishing village,  see the best of Valletta,  Isla, Birgu, just to mentioned a few.  What impressed me the most, other then her extraordinary driving skills navigating her car  in small and very narrow streets, is how well she knows the history of Malta.  Without hesitation she described monuments,  told history of cities, churches, paintings and statues,  tales about Grandmasters, Catholic bishops, ruling families, etc.  Not even once would she not know an answer to our questions.  Her in depth knowledge and understanding the rich history of Malta is pretty incredible.  Thanks to her organizational skills we were able to see all of the main points of Malta within two days. 

Upon planning our trip to Italy, Malta and France this summer, we dinitely wanted to book some private tours in each area so as to properly see the sights and get the history of the surrounding areas. In trying to investigate the possibilities from Canada (where we live) prior to leaving on the trip, I fell upon TourHQ. The more I read, the more I realized that this was a legitimate site and I felt we could trust what we were reading. For the Malta portion of our trip, we chose a guide and book evrything. Unfortunately, a day before our Malta portion, the guide hurt herself (badly twisted ankle) and therefore was not going to be able to fulfill her duties. She called on a tour guide friend of hers to see if she could fill in and her name is Mirabel Azzopardi. What a joy! This guide knows her stuff! In this particular case, we wanted her to drive us around using her own car as well as guide our tour. Flawless! Mirabel treated us like family. She has freesing cold water for us in a cooler all day for both days that we spent with her. She would stop wherever we wanted (unplanned visit, taking photos, hungry for lunch etc.) even if it was not on the tour she had planned for us. She is a very sweet person and an extremely knowledgeable licenced guide. Rita, Matt and myself would not hesistate for even one seconf to strongly recommend Mirabel to you, if you were looking for someone in Malta. Thank you for the wonderful time Mirabel! :)
