Very interesting tour of Kathmandu

Reviewed July 28, 2022

Ranjan was very well versed in his country’s history and culture and communicated them well. My tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Kathmandu. I would highly recommend him.  I hope that I am able to visit again and would do the tour again to refresh my memory and spend time with a great guide.

Great Tour with 2 old women

Reviewed July 17, 2022

Ranjan has  been my guide on a few trips to Nepal and I can't say enough about him.  He has taken me and my friend on great tours around Kathmandu and other parts of the Kathmandu Valley.  We weren't interested in hiking but mostly interested in the culture, shopping and the  historical sites.

He took us deep into the shopping areas of Thamel which was a great cultural experience.  Ask him to take you to the market where salt is sold in huge chunks.  Wow!  What a great expereince that was.  I still have salt here at my house.

I also got honey from the bee keepers who rob bees from the cliffs up in the mountains.  Another Wow!

My friend and I love to shop so he took us on the winding side streets of old Thamel.   He was always able to get us a better deal since the shop keepers knew him.  What a lovely adventure that was.  We also stayed down in a little hotel in Thamel so we could be close to the shops and food.  Ranjan also knew all the little resturants where we ate and never got sick.

The last night I was there he arranged for me to get a massage.  That $15.00 hour long massage was worth every dime before I got on the plane.  I am not sure it will be $15.00 in 2022, but it will be worth whatever price you pay.

Most of all, Ranjan and his family have kept in touch with me for many years.  I have watched him get married, have a child and live through the pandemic.

He is a good and honest man.  He will treat you right and you will enjoy the special time you spend in Nepal.

Best Guide Ever!

Reviewed July 3, 2022

In 2017 I visited Nepal for only a few short days and arrived with zero plan but knowing I wanted to fit as much in as possible. Within a few hours of arriving I had met a local and through his connections I was booked in for the next 3-4 days with Ranjan as my local guide. In 3 short days Ranjan took me to all the major cultural sites in Kathmandu, I had visited multiple temples and hiked a small peak to see the sunrise in the early hours of the morning. I saw firsthand the devastation caused by the earthquake and shared some lovely local meals with Ranjan and learnt of his family and his life, the short but impactful time I spent in Kathmandu with Ranjan I felt I truly got to experience the culture, the food and feel connected to the country and it’s people. If you know exactly what you want out of your visit to Kathmandu or if you have no idea let Ranjan take care of you as he did me on my travels.
