Jonas put together a custom 2 day itinerary for us, set up a driver of an air conditioner van and provided supplemental tour guides in some spots. We saw most of the impactful sights in Benin, but what really made the tour was our visit of the slave path and Ganvie on day 2. The mass slave grave and memorial were so moving I had to take a knee and just pray. Then in Ganvie, Jonas was known by EVERYONE since he grew up there and his mother still lives there. I hot the chance to meet his mother and so many local folks while getting a tour of the village. It was a fantastic experience.

Jonas is a wonderful guide who knows Ganvie very well and can help you learn about the village and meet a few of the people who live and work there. Not just informative, but he's also very friendly and hospitable. He can lead a large group of people in a boat and he can be hired if you want to be in the boat without other tourists. If you are looking for a knowledgeable guide to show you Ganvie and teach you a little about the village, Jonas is highly recommended.

Jonnas was an excellent guide and was able to explain a lot about the history and culture of both Togo and Benin and West Africa in general. We felt very safe with him and his friend who drove us Emil. Emil drove us carefully and we managed to see a lot in our day in a very comfortable air conditioned car as the temperature was 30 degrees and humid. We recommend Jonnas highly and enjoyed meeting his friend a fisherman and seeing how people live off the land as well as in the city. The explanation of voodoo and traditional medicine was particularly interesting to us.
