Most wonderful safari with our passionate and attentive guide

Reviewed April 3, 2022

We spent eleven days with Leonard and visited the following places: Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and even an authentic Massai village.

Leonard is an extremely welcoming and most friendly guide who made us feel comfortable right from the beginning of our trip. He gave us a most authentic Tanzanias experience and made us never feel like tourists.

As a guide, Leonard is extremely knowlegable and explains during the trip so many intersting things about animals, plants or culture in fluent English. Most outstanding are, however, his spotting skills. Leonard saw animals and had a sixth sense that more would appear out of the bush where other drivers would simply go past. At the same time, he is very respectul towards nature and would never hassle the game when finding the perfect foto spot. While watching the wildlife, Leonard gave us all the time we needed to engross in the experience, answered patiently all our questions, and accomodate a quick stop here or there for yet another picture of the scenic nature.

During the whole trip, he was super reliable and we felt safe at every moment even during heavy rain when driving on rough roads. When it came to our ideas during our stay, he was most forthcoming: When we were excited about fresh and authentic food, Leonard took us to a local market where we got fresh fruit and vegetable, we bought some chapati in a small village and then prepared and ate the most delicious fresh salad out in the bush. The other day, he found for us a volunteering organization, where we could talk with the locals about their work.

Leonard truly loves his country and is incredibly passionate about showing its beauty to people from all around the world. We whole-heartedly recommend to go on safari in Tanzania with Leonard. For us, he is the best possible guide and we very much looking forward to coming back one day and seeing more of the Tanzanian wildlife and nature together with him.

Thank you, Leonard, for being such a wonderful, kind and truly amazing travel companion. We came as tourists and left as friends.

Tanzania beyond expectations

Reviewed April 10, 2018

After a  long flight from Schipol it was wonderful to see a friendly face waiting for us as we emerged late at night from Kilimanjaro Airport,  Leonard made us welcome in Tanzania and became our guide and friend for the duration of our holiday.

Our aim on this holiday was to take our eight  year old grandson Oliver to show him Africa, its animals and people. Leonard took Oliver under his wing and gave him an unforgettable introduction to Africa.

The sign of a true professional guide is the ability to spot hard to find game at long distances in difficult conditions, Leonard was always able find  interesting wild animals and place us safely in the best positions to view and photograph the aninmals even in difficult conditions.

Leonard is always aware of the safety of his clients, he is a safe and capable driver both on and off the road.He has an in depth knowledge of Tanzania it's history and wildlife and has interesing humorous  interpretation, including the Lion, Jackal and Hyena stories.

After reading the previous reviews on this site I absolutely agree with all of the comments made, Leonard is a true Ambassador for the Tanzanian travel and Safari industry.

I thoroughly recommend Leonard to anyone planning a Safari trip large or small whatever the ages, he is proven to be the best guide and travelling comanion you could wish for.

Tanzanian Safari

My husband and I were fortunate to have Leonard as our guide for a 12 day safari in Tanzania. It was just the two of us so it was important that we got along since we would be together most of the time! Leonard turned out to be great company as well as a very knowledgeable guide. He made sure we were safe and comfortable and was flexible within our itinerary. I highly recommend Leonard as your guide to any place in Tanzania! Review by Debbie

Fantastic wildlife guide and ambassador for Tanzania

Reviewed February 5, 2017

Leonard George was the guide for our family safari trip through north-western Tanzania (Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti). This was a trip our family of 4 had planned for a (very) long time so expectations were naturally high when we arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport late at night and were picked up by Leonard, a person we had never met or communicated with but would spend the next 11 days with us in close quarters. Not only did we quickly feel at easy and comfortable but Leonard was everything we could have hoped for and a LOT more. Not only was he an exemplary driver, extremely knowledgeable about wildlife, unique ability to spot wildlife that the rest of us would never have seen while driving, and also to always positions the car in the most optimal location for the best viewing and photos was amazing. We have way too many memorable moments to list and while we did see all Big 5, watching a (single) buffalo chase several lions, and catching a young lion couple on their honeymoon was probably near the top. In addition to Leonard’s comprehensive wildlife knowledge (big and small animals as well as birds) he is a true ambassador to everything Tanzania and we learned a lot about history. Leonard was always prepared, his service was always above and beyond anything we had hoped for and we now consider Leonard as part of our extended family in Tanzania. Leonard not only made us feel safe but made us feel very comfortable and special. We would absolutely recommend Leonard for your trip of a lifetime to beautiful Tanzania. By the way, when you book your trip with Leonard make sure you remember to ask him to tell you the story of the jackals, the hyenas and the lions.

An excellent guide if you want to see all that Tanzania has to offer

Reviewed March 13, 2016

We, the 6 of us, were so lucky to get Leonard George as our guide during our 10 day safari in Tanzania. He was very knowledgeable about the habitats and habits of the birds and animals around the lakes, plains and Serengeti. With his knowledge of wildlife and his eagle eyes, he spotted so many creatures that we would never have spotted on our own. But, just as importantly, Leonard had a way of making us feel very comfortable but special at the same time. He made sure that we got to see all The Big 5 animals. Though the Cheetahs would turn out to be the most elusive of all of them, he eventually tracked down 4 of them sitting together! We would definitely recommend you request Leonard for your “once in a lifetime trip” to the beautiful country of Tanzania which I affectionately refer to as the land of “Noah’s Ark”.
