Stin communicated clearly from the beginning of our negotiations. . He was on time and was very informed about the country’s history,  and knew facts about present day business dealings and social/cultural information which I loved.  He helped me barter some at the market buying batiks. He was clear with our group of 10 how to safe and not encounter problems with the armed guards. 

Stin (Ernestinho) knows Maputo well- a day with him was the  best way to take advantage of a limited time in the city. I got a comprehensive overview and really enjoyed the day. Stin is an engaging companion, and very easy to talk to. English is excellent. We covered literally everything I was interested in: train station, downtown, up market areas (Polana) , the beach area, independence Square and Mafalala. I don’t think there was anything left in Maputo I wanted to see. Lunch  choice was excellent too. I would recommend Stin for this tour 

Stin Safari did 2 tours for us in March 2018. The first was a cycle tour which took in the main sights of the city. Ernestino immediately gained our confidence as a tour guide and we felt we could ask to flex the route to add in things that we particularly wanted to see, for example a school where Sarah had taught at previously. Ernestino gladly did this. He was helpful in his commentary and always responsive if we had questions.  Our second tour was by car and involved further (personally selected) locations in the city and then out to Matola, Machava and Costa do Sol.

Still was our tour guide on a city tour of Maputo, Mozambique. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and made the entire trip entertaining. His English is superb and he made sure everyone had a great time. This was probably one of the best tours I've done, thanks to an amazing guide.

I am a global traveller; have been travelling for 78 years (yes, 78). My travels started in utero (the womb), when my pregnant mother travelled by rail and cargo ship, through eleven countries, on the journey from Czechoslovakia---via the Suez Canal---to Nairobi, Kenya where I was born. Africa has been close to my heart ever since. In October 2016, I was journeying through Southern Africa, and one of my visits was to Maputo, Mozambique. Stin Safira (Safira is the correct spelling of his surname) was a dedicated guide and took me to the village where he was born and grew up, introduced me to his uncle, then drove me around the outskirts of Maputo. He took me to Matola where I could meet a few school children and observe young boys and girls playing a local game in the street, to Costa do Sol Beach, viewpoints of the islands off the coast, and to a boat on the main river of Maputo. Stin showed me how a conscientious and caring guide can make a huge difference to the quality of the visit experience. I am a travel writer based in Australia and have nothing put praise for Stin Safira. Thanks to him, I got some very useful photographs and a delightfully local feel for this part of Mozambique. The citizens I came across or met have a happy disposition and seem to welcome interacting with visiting foreigners.
