Ahmad is a very knowledgeable and skilled guide. I felt very comfortable throughout my entire trip. I wasn't stressed at all. Most importantly, he's a very trustworthy person. If you ever come to this area, be sure to meet with him.

Ahmad was my guide for six days while touring Kurdistan. As a young American female solo traveler cognizant of the complex security situation in the region, I was initially a bit worried about visiting Iraq, but Ahmad made the trip extremely smooth. I felt very safe the entire time and loved every minute of the tour. Ahmad took me to Sulaymaniyah (including the Red Prison), Halabja, the Lalish Yezidi Temple, Alqosh (Rabban Hormizd monastery), Duhok, Amedy, Shanadar Cave (a Neanderthal settlement), Soran, Galli Ali Beg waterfall, Rwanduz, Akre, and Mar Mattai monastery, and Erbil, among others. We visited nearly all the main sites of Kurdistan, which was fantastic. Six full days was the perfect amount of time to see the important places at a reasonable pace. I would highly recommend Ahmad to anyone, as he is a wonderful guide who knows all the special religious/historical sites and viewpoints. He has very strong knowledge of the local history and also is in contact with the locals at every site, so he sometimes could have them open a mosque or museum or viewpoint that was otherwise closed. And he is a very kind person open to sharing his stories (including from his time as a translator in the coalition forces against ISIS) and those of his family. Having Ahmad as a tour guide showed me another side of Kurdistan I never could have seen without him. He takes great care to make the experience exceptional and teach you what he can about Kurdistan. And as a woman traveling alone, he was always highly respectful and made me feel completely at ease. He was also flexible to accommodate my budget as a student, while ensuring all hotels and restaurants were of excellent quality. I have deep gratitude to Ahmad for arranging an unforgettable journey through Kurdistan, and I hope other travelers don’t hesitate to visit the region too.
