we wanted to hire a personal guide/Egyptologist for our visit to Egypt and were very pleased to find  luxor city travel owned by Amir. After sending out emails, Amir was the first to respond and began working with us to create a plan. He was incredibly helpful and took a real interest in what we wanted. Our plan covered 3 full days and included a pickup and transfer to our hotel from Cairo International Airport. During our 3 day tour we visited the Giza Pyramids, Dashur (Bent & Red Pyramids), Saqquarah (Djoser Step Pyramid, Serapeum), Coptic Cairo (Crypt of Christ, Jewish Synagogue), Mosque of Muhammad Ali and a day trip to Alexandria (Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, Citadel of Qaitbay). Amir arranged our pickup at the airport which made arriving and visas easy. We were met by Amir's associate who had already purchased our visas and helped us to obtain money and a sim card.  Amir and his driver Hassan, personally transfered us by car to our hotel and we had a great conversation about Egypt and its history the entire time. We found Amir to be very couteous, helpful and informative. He even changed our schedule to make it work better due to the Islamic Sabbath. Our plan included a personal driver, Hassan, who was a great driver, very friendly and kept us safe on the road. Amir expertly guided us through all the sites, teaching us about ancient and current Egyptian history, culture and religion.  We enjoyed our time and conversations with Amir. We found Egypt to be very safe and welcoming, but Amir made us feel even more comfortable as he guided us through this new culture and gave us many suggestions. Our trip was a celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary, so we asked Amir to take us shopping in a non-tourist area for some jewelry to mark the occassion. Amir took us to a jewelry shop that we found to be honest and accommadating  and we were able to purchase a custom ring to mark our anniversary. Amir was kind enough to purchase us a gift for our anniversary! I highly recommend Luxor City travel and  Amir as a guide and would use them again when we return to Egypt!
