I came to Madagascar excited about seeing all the lemurs - and we did indeed see 13 different types, some in extreme close-up! I was absolutely spellbound. What has really stayed with me is the sheer variety of the landscapes, customs, and people - and the fantastic knowledge of our guides Sanda and Niry, plus the local guides who we met at each different part of the trip. It was my first trekking holiday and I have some truly magical memories - hiking through the 'lunar landscape' in Andringitra National Park, and the sunrise ascent of Peak Boby was breathtaking. I loved the food (I was eating a largely plant-based diet and was very well catered for) although take care with the chilli sauce! Sanda was an absolute star, friendly, funny and helpful. Madagascar is a beautiful country, it's impossible to see it all in one trip but we gave it a good go!
