FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN LAKE NAIVASHA NATIONAL PARK.
Arrive at Nairobi, on a morning flight and then leave for the highlands of Kenya, on the same day with the Kenyan driver/guide.
Proceed to Lake Naivasha National Park to arrive at your Lodge in time for Lunch. Lake Naivasha is the highest and purest of all the Rift Valley Lakes at 1880 m above sea level. This area is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 450 species of recorded birds in the area. A small islet on the lake is home to a number of wild animals. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride safari as they view wildlife and birds of the tranquil lake. A private ranch (Kongoni Game Sanctuary) is located in the area which is home to lions, leopards, cheetah, and some translocated Gravy’s zebras.
After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive to further explore the park.
In the evening, return to your Lodge in time for dinner.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge: Full board.
-
FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK.
Proceed south-west to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is one of the most beautiful ornithological paradises in the world, and the first flamingo sanctuary to be created. Surrounded by forests of yellow acacia and Candelabra Euphorbia, it not only gains its fame for its over 450 species of birds residing in the area, but also for the mammals living in perfect harmony with the aquatic environment. Waterbuck, warthogs, baboons, buffalos, giraffes, and felines such as lions and leopards can be found here. However, this small and shallow lake is more famous for its pink flamingo population, breeding along the shoreline and feeding off the lake.
Have lunch at the lodge, before the game drive at 4 pm.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge: Full board.
-
FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE.
Descend from the Great Rift Valley in the morning. Driving to the south, pass the volcanic mountains of Longonot and Suswa. After crossing Narok, the principal town in the Maasai Mara area, approach the Loita Plains where it is possible to observe the circular manyattas (Maasai villages).
Before finally arriving at the great Serengeti plains, have lunch at the lodge and go for an afternoon game drive. Situated in the Maasai territory, this park gets its name from the Mara River. In contrast with most of the rivers in the African savannah, the river has a permanent flow of water throughout the year, attracting a great variety of wildlife. This guarantee of water, especially during the dry season, hosts great numbers of herbivores such as zebras, wildebeest, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, hartebeest, topis, buffalos, elephants etc, converting the park into the one region in the world with the highest concentration of wildlife.
Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge: Full board.
-
ANOTHER FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE.
Go for hot air ballooning in the morning. The calm early morning air of the Maasai Mara is ideal for hot Air Balloon flights, available as an optional tour to see the park from a bird’s eye viewpoint. (Please book early to guarantee this adventure).
Embark on a pre-breakfast morning game drive in the reserve -a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve.
After a rewarding game drive, return to your lodge for a late morning breakfast.
Enjoy a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes including visits to Mara River, Kenya Tanzania Border Post and a great chance to view the “Big Five”.
