The itinerary

1
Day 01

Cusco City Tour and Inca Sites

  • Upon arrival, our staff will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel, where you can acclimatize.
  • At 1:40 pm, we will meet in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco to begin the City Tour.
  • We will visit the Qoricancha Temple, built on the base of Inca foundations where the sun god was worshipped, and where the Inca walls are still preserved.
  • Then, we will visit the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, famous for its enormous polished and molded stones, some of which are 9 m high and weigh 350 tons.
  • We continue to the Temple of Qenqo, the mystical temple of the Incas where religious sacrifices were made, and then to the military center of Puca Pucara, the control and military center of the Incas.
  • Finally, we will visit the Tambomachay Temple. This monument is known as "El Baño de la Ñusta" due to the existence of two aqueducts that carry crystal-clear water throughout the year.

Day 02

South Valley Tour to Tipón, Pikillaqta, and Andahuaylillas

  • We will pick you up from your hotel at 08:30 am and travel by tourist transport to the south of Cusco.
  • After about 30 minutes, we arrive at our first stop, Tipón. Today, it is famous for its irrigation system, which still serves agriculture. It also has an impressive cultivation area containing 12 terraces.
  • We will continue to Pikillaqta, famous for being the first urban center corresponding to the development period of the Wari Empire. It is also known for its more than a thousand buildings, including plazas, food deposits, courts or houses, temples, and long, narrow streets with buildings up to 4 stories high.
  • We will then visit Andahuaylillas, a typical Andean village from colonial times with unique origin and architecture. Its Catholic temple from the colonial era stands out for its beautiful decoration and mural paintings from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, earning it the name "the Sistine Chapel of Cusco."
  • We will return to the city of Cusco at approximately 15:30.

Day 03

Humantay Lagoon Hike

  • We will pick you up from your hotel between 4:30 am and 5:00 am and take you by tourist bus to the town of Mollepata. The trip takes approximately 2 hours, where we will have a delicious breakfast, and then continue by bus for another hour to Soraypampa.
  • From there, we will get ready for our hike, which usually takes about an hour and a half to reach Humantay Lagoon.
  • Afterwards, we will visit the lagoon and enjoy the view of Humantay Mountain, while our guide explains this magnificent place.
  • After the visit, we will return to Soraypampa to enjoy a delicious lunch before heading back to the city of Cusco.

Day 04

Maras, Moray, and Salineras Tour

  • We start with pickup from your hotel at 8:30 am to visit Maras, Moray, and Salineras on a colorful tour, passing through very typical villages and beautiful landscapes that we can enjoy along the way.
  • We will visit the archaeological complex of Moray, located 7 km southwest of Maras, currently known for its huge terraces that overlap concentrically in a gigantic pit. In ancient times, these beautiful terraces served as a laboratory during the Inca period.
  • Then we will go to the village of Maras, which today has attractions from the pre-Hispanic, colonial, and republican periods.
  • Finally, we will visit the "Salt Mines," known as "Salineras." They are currently exploited for salt production and were also used in Inca and colonial times. There are approximately 2,000 wells, each with an average area of about 5 m2.
  • After our visit, we will return to the city of Cusco.

Day 05

Rainbow Mountain Adventure

  • Pickup from your hotel will be between 04:30 am and 05:00 am. Then we will begin our trip to the south of Cusco.
  • After an hour and a half of travel, we will arrive at our first stop in the district of Cusipata, where we will have breakfast.
  • After breakfast, we will continue for another hour along an unpaved road. Upon reaching the foothills of the Cordillera Vinicunca, we will begin the hike of approximately an hour and a half, appreciating beautiful landscapes full of streams, mountains, lagoons, snow-capped peaks, flora, and fauna. Once we reach our destination at 5,020 m.a.s.l., the Mountain of Colors, we will have approximately 30 to 40 minutes on the mountain.
  • After the visit, we will board the bus and return to Cusipata, where a delicious meal awaits us.
  • Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco at approximately 18:30.

Day 06

Sacred Valley Tour and Train to Machu Picchu

  • Pickup from the hotel will be at approximately 8:20 am. We will leave Cusco at 9:00 am on our way to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • We begin with a visit to Corao and then travel along the Vilcanota River for a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After arriving in Pisaq, we will visit the archaeological center of Pisaq, famous for its terraces built on the slopes of the hill.
  • Afterwards, we will head to Urubamba, where we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas (Inka House buffet menu).
  • After lunch, we will continue along the Vilcanota River to visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, which was built to guard against jungle invaders.
  • Then, we will go to Ollantaytambo station to take the train to Machu Picchu.
  • After an hour and 40 minutes on the train, enjoying the beautiful landscapes surrounding the entrance to the town of Aguas Calientes, we will arrive at the Machu Picchu train station, where a transfer will be waiting to take us to the hotel.
  • At the hotel, the guide will give the necessary instructions for the visit to Machu Picchu.

Day 07

Guided Visit to Machu Picchu

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we will go to the bus station to ascend by a zigzag road for 40 minutes until we reach the wonder of the world, "The Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu," known as "The Lost City of the Incas."
  • Once in the citadel of Machu Picchu, we will begin our guided excursion for approximately two hours. Afterwards, you will have free time to continue exploring the citadel and enjoy your meals at one of the restaurants in the town of Aguas Calientes.
  • Later, we will go to the Machu Picchu train station 30 minutes before departure for the train to Ollantaytambo.
  • Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, our transfer will be waiting to take you to the city of Cusco (Regocijo Square).

Departure from Cusco

  • After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport or bus station.
