Drive from Cusco to Cachora and start the trek to the historical Archaeological Complex of Choquequirao. Pass through beautiful snow-capped peaks and reach Rosalinda Beach before heading to Marampata to see the breathtaking views of the vegetation. Finally, explore the highlights of the Archaeological Site of Choquequirao and learn the importance of this lost city of Incas.

  • Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Chiquisqa expand_more
    • We leave Cusco at 6:00 am to the town of Cachora (3100 masl) at 10:00 approx. 
    • Here we will meet the horses and muleteers, and it is at this point where we will begin our hike on a gently sloping path.
    • On the way, we will have the first views of the snowy Padrayoc (5,482m) and Wayna Cachora with a short break at the pass of Capuliyoc (2900 m). 
    • From here, we will have a panoramic view of the Apurimac valley, then we descend, appreciating the beautiful landscape of warm climate until we arrive at Chiquisqa(1930 m.a.s.l.).
  • Day 2: Chiquisqa - Playa Rosalina - Sunchupata expand_more
    • After breakfast (5:00 am), we will continue our hike towards Rosalina beach (1550 masl).
    • Then, we will climb the slope towards Santa Rosa (2100 masl) place of our lunch. This route is the most arduous.
    • Then, we ascend to Maranpata (2850 masl). This is a smoother climb, during this journey, you can appreciate all the way the first day and the vegetation that exists in this place,
    • Next, we will walk a straight stretch towards Sunchupata. m) appreciating the vegetation that exists in this place.
    • Travel a straight stretch in the direction of Sunchupata, where we will have our dinner and camp. From this point, it is one hour walk to Choquequirao.
  • Day 3: Sunchupata - Choquequirao - Chiquisqa expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will go to Choquequirao to appreciate the sunrise
    • We will visit the citadel for three hours, accompanied by the guide who will explain about this important Inca refuge and the importance of the Apurimac and Rio Blanco rivers. We can also appreciate the Vilcabamba Mountain range.
    • Next, we will start the return to Sunchupata and descend to the Rosalina beach via Santa Rosa.
    • Finally, we will go to the town of Chiquisqa and camp.
  • Day 4: Capuliyuc - Cachora - Cusco expand_more
    • After a delicious breakfast in Chiquisqa (06:00 am), we return by the same road to reach the pass of Capuliyoc. 
    • We will arrive in the town of Cachora at 12:00 pm approx. On the way, we will appreciate the exotic flora and fauna of the place, as well as views of towering snow-capped mountains and the impressive Apurimac canyon.
    • Finally, continue to the city of Cusco, arriving in the afternoon at the hotel.
