The itinerary

1
Day 01

Cusco to Mollepata and Soraypampa via Humantay Lagoon

  • At 4:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin our journey to Mollepata, where we will have breakfast.
  • Then, we continue by the same transport to Challacancha. Here, we will have lunch and spend about 3 hours exploring the Humantay lagoon.
  • On the way back to camp, we will have dinner and rest for the second day.

Day 02

Soraypampa to Challhuay via Salkantay Pass

  • After breakfast at 5:00 am, we begin the walk towards the Salkantay Pass, which takes approximately 4 hours.
  • Later, we descend for 2 hours to Arayanniyoq, where lunch awaits us. After lunch, we will rest for a few minutes.
  • Then, we continue for 3 hours to the camp in the town of Challhuay.

Day 03

Santa Teresa, Hydroelectric and Aguas Calientes

  • The day begins at 6:00 am after breakfast. We continue our journey to Santa Teresa, where we will have lunch.
  • Then, we continue to Hydroelectric.
  • In the afternoon, we continue our 3-hour walk along the railway line to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu).
  • Upon reaching Aguas Calientes, we will head to our hostel, where we will spend the third night.
  • In the evening, we will have dinner at a tourist restaurant. Here, our guide will give you directions for the next day's tour to Machu Picchu.

Day 04

Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco

  • At dawn, at 4:30 am, you will have breakfast at your lodge, then begin the hike of approximately 2 hours until you reach the control point at 6:00 am.
  • Here, we will begin the 2-hour guided tour inside the historic center of Machu Picchu.
  • Then, we continue with our 1-hour hike to Machu Picchu Mountain, with entrance time from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
  • Afterwards, at 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm, we will descend to the village of Machu Picchu to take the return Inca Rail train to Ollantaytambo.
  • Then, take the bus to the city of Cusco.
