Day 01

Cusco, Pisaq and Trek to Cancha Cancha

  • We start at 6:00 am by picking up guests from their hotel. Then, in our private transport, we will travel to the Archaeological Park of Pisaq. Together with our guide, we will visit a local man who will tell us about its history and the value it had in Inca times.
  • We will have the option of enjoying our breakfast while welcoming the surroundings and taking in the environment, so we can begin our walk with the necessary energy.
  • We will continue to Huaran, where our team of riders and horses will be waiting for us to start our walk. We will prepare ourselves with suitable clothing and then begin ascending for 3 hours until we reach Cancha Cancha, where our chef will welcome us with a delicious lunch to recharge.
  • In Cancha Cancha, located at 3900 masl (12800 ft), we will set up our tents for the night and then enjoy activities with a local family while learning more about their traditions and customs.
  • After dinner, we can enjoy a beautiful sky full of stars and learn a little about Inca astronomy.

  • From here, we can enjoy beautiful views of the landscape, surrounded by mountains, lagoons, glaciers, and flora and fauna typical of the area, such as llamas, alpacas, and falcons. Along the way, we will also have a spectacular view of the seven waterfalls located near Quiswarani.
  • When we arrive in Quiswarani, our transport will be waiting to take us to Ollantaytambo.
  • In Ollantaytambo, depending on the departure time of our train, we will board the train heading to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where we can rest in a comfortable hotel.
