  • Day 1: Cusco-Tauca-Huchuy Qosqo-Ollantaytambo-Machu Picchu Pueblo expand_more
    • We will begin our 2-day trekking adventure from Huchuy Qosqo to Machu Picchu at 6 am, picking up guests from their hotel.
    • We will head to the village of Tauca at 3750 meters above sea level, from where we will start our hike to the pass located at 4050 meters above sea level. Enjoy beautiful landscapes, fields of crops such as corn, quinoa, potatoes and other tubers.
    • We will appreciate the Vilcabamba mountain range surrounded by snow-capped peaks, mountains and inter-Andean valleys, among which are the Nevados de la Veronica, Pitusiray and Chicon.
    • Descend to Huchuy Qosqo and walk along a path that leads us to the Cauca gorge.
    • We will continue the descent to Leon Punku, where we will find the remains of the Inca bridge of the river that will take us to Huchuy Qosqo, located at 3650 meters above sea level. It is situated on a plateau surrounded by Inca agricultural terraces and allows a magnificent view of the mountain range from the Vilcanota. Our guide will tell us the history of the archaeological center during the tour.
    • We will take a short break for lunch and then continue our descent to Lamay at 2900 meters above sea level, where our transportation will be waiting to take us to Ollantaytambo. 
    • We will have dinner and wait for the train departure to Machu Picchu town, where we will stay at the selected hotel.
  • Day 2: Machu Picchu Pueblo - Machu Picchu – Cusco expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will visit “Machu Picchu”, the best you will experience in Peru. 
    • Together with our guide, we will board the bus that will transport us to the gate of the archaeological park, from where we will begin the tour of the Inca citadel.
    • From the Guardian’s house, we will be able to enjoy all the grandeur of the Inca city of Machu Picchu. 
    • Begin the descent where we will pass through the agricultural part and essential points such as the Quarry, the Toreón, the 3 windows, the ceremonial table. The Inti Huatana, the ceremonial table and the temple of the Condor.
    • At the end of our visit, we will return to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where we can take advantage of free activities until 30 minutes.
    • Then, take the train to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will be waiting to take us to the hotel in Cusco.

Know before you go
  • According to the cornista Pedro de la Cieza, the archaeological center of Huchuy Qosqo dates between the years 1000 and 1400 AD. Huchuy Qosqo, also known as “little Cusco”, is located at an altitude of 3,650 meters above sea level (11,980 feet), with an impressive view of the Sacred Valley 3 kilometres above the city of Lamay. It was formerly known as Caquia Xaquixaguana or kakya Qawani, as it was known to the Incas. It is said to have been owned by the Inca emperor Viracocha in the 1420s.
