Day 1: Tlacolula Valley – Mezcal Traditions – Hierve el Agua
- Pick up between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. at your hotel, provided it is located within 4 kilometers of the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán in downtown Oaxaca City, or meet at the temple entrance.

Depart for the Tlacolula Valley.
Arrive at the Tlacolula de Matamoros Market as the first stop of the day.
Observe the social interaction of the surrounding communities.
Sample typical regional dishes such as meat, lamb barbacoa, tejate, fruit-flavored waters, coffee or hot chocolate, bread, and a vegan or vegetarian option.
Enjoy breakfast while learning about local culture and cuisine.
Head to a palenque, or agave distillery.
Tour the agave fields in a special vehicle.
Taste pulque, an ancestral beverage made from the agave plant.
Travel to the Mitla archaeological site, renowned for its antiquity and historical significance.
Visit a textile workshop where artisans use the traditional Baroque pedal loom technique.
Receive a small gift from the artisans.
Have time within the community for lunch, a short walk to stretch your legs, and rest.
Continue to a small, family-run artisanal mezcal distillery on the way to Hierve el Agua.
Learn about the processes and details of agave cultivation in the region and mezcal production.
Arrive at the petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua.
Have dinner.
Settle into your selected accommodation, either a campsite or a room.

Day 2: Sunrise – Hiking – Teotitlán del Valle – Santa María del Tule
- Watch the sunrise between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. as an optional activity.
Begin a moderately difficult hike through the area.
Explore the various springs and enjoy the views of the main waterfalls.
Have breakfast in the community around 9:00 a.m.
Enjoy free time for swimming and taking photographs in the natural area.
Depart at midday for the community of Teotitlán del Valle on the way back to Oaxaca City.

Visit the community of Santa María del Tule.
