After a brief stay, descend carefully via the same route and return to Imlil by evening, completing a demanding full-day mountain expedition.

Full-Day Mount Toubkal Summit Trek from Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains
- 04:00 – Early Start from Imlil (1,740 m)
Meet your guide in Imlil and begin the trek before sunrise. Headlamps on, you follow a steady uphill trail through quiet Berber villages and terraced fields. ⏰ - 06:30 – Reach Sidi Chamharouch (2,310 m)
Arrive at the sacred site of Sidi Chamharouch shrine, a popular stop for tea and a short rest. Refill water and prepare for the more demanding section ahead. - 07:00 – Continue Towards the Refuge
- The trail becomes steeper and more rugged as you ascend through the valley. Walk alongside rocky paths and mountain streams, maintaining a steady and controlled pace.
- 09:00 – Toubkal Refuge Area (3,200 m)
- Arrive near the refuge for a short rest depending on pace and conditions. Have a light snack, hydrate, and adjust equipment before the final ascent.
- 09:30 – Summit Push Begins
- Start the most demanding section of the climb. The terrain is steep and physically challenging, with thinner air at higher altitude. In winter, crampons and ice equipment may be required.
- 12:00 – Summit Mount Toubkal (4,167 m)
- Reach the highest peak in North Africa. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the High Atlas Mountains and, on clear days, the distant Sahara Desert.
- 12:30 – Begin Descent
- After a short time at the summit, begin the careful descent. The terrain requires focus and energy management to avoid fatigue-related slips.
- 15:30 – Return to Refuge Area
- Pause for a brief rest and refreshment before continuing the final descent towards Imlil.
- 17:30 – 18:30 – Arrival Back in Imlil
- Conclude your full-day expedition upon returning to Imlil, marking the completion of an intense but rewarding mountain adventure.
