About me
I was born during the civil war that Cambodains lived for almost three decades. The war finished when I was 18 years old, in 1998, and it was a very bad memory that I can never forget. My father was forced to be a soldier and he fought against The Khmer Rouge. He died in the war when I was three years old.My mother was overworked during the Khmer Rouge regime and she passed away when I was 13 years old.I was looked after by my sister and all my brothers were forced to be soldiers. When the war stopped, I was 18 years old. I went to school for a few years, but because I was poor, I left school and worked at many different jobs; I was a construction worker, a mason, a plumber, a pulled pump well worker, a farmer, a fisherman, a wood sculptor, and a silk loom [sensitive content]w I have received a license from the Tourism Ministry of Cambodia and work as an official tour guide in The cultural Heritage site of Angkor Wat and also cover entire Cambodia. My wish is to stop the poverty of my younger generations.I want to help my brother's and sisters' children to get a good education.Their parents were born in the civil war so most of them can't read and write.I don't want my country to, ever again, enter into a civil war.One like the one that killed my Father, my Mother, and my relatives. So I try to gain more education myself and my aim is to make people around me live and smile in peace.I spend my time teaching English, Japanese and French to poor children for free.I hope to see you in Cambodia and I can tell you more about my life and my country and together we can see the brighter side of this historical gem.
