Itinerary

1. Day 1 - Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve

   • Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, you will enjoy an early breakfast then depart to the Masai Mara National Reserve.
   • Arriving in time for lunch, then later depart on an afternoon game viewing drive searching for the hundreds of wildlife species the game reserve is famous for. These include the lion, Cape buffalo, the savannah elephant, black rhino and the elusive leopard, impalas, Masai giraffes, waterbucks, warthogs, Thompson & grant's gazelles, topis, the resident wildebeests, among many others.

   Enjoy dinner and overnight.

2. Day 2 - Masai Mara Game Reserve

   • After breakfast, embark on a full day of game viewing drive searching for the Big-Five among many other wildlife species. In addition to wildlife, the Mara has lovely, varied scenery to enjoy. The vast plains and grasslands are also home to hundreds of bird species.

   Enjoy meals and overnight.

   OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: 

   • Today’s adventure begins just before dawn. Flames from the hot air balloon burners light the darkness as the crew inflate their craft. The first pink tongues of sunlight flicker across the skies, and the hot air balloon fills then rises. Suspended in a basket beneath the rainbow-coloured canopy, you're off for a game-viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. Apart from the occasional hiss of the burners, a lion's roar, elephants crashing through the bush, baboons perched in the tips of the trees startled and screeching to see something above them, the flight above the Masai Mara plains is magically silent.

   • You are treated to a champagne breakfast in the bush at the end of the flight, complete with flowers. China and crystal are set out on the table that is placed under a convenient acacia tree. The finishing touch to the flight is a game drive back to the camp and the possibility of seeing the same pride of lions or herd of elephants that had been viewed while ballooning. A flight certificate is issued on completion of the balloon safari.

   • And/or enjoy a visit to a traditional Masai Manyatta. Experience the culture of this world-famous community - the Masai still live as they did for centuries; interact with these nomadic people and experience their way of life as you learn about their customs and traditions.

   • Continue with your afternoon game viewing drive before returning to your camp/lodge for dinner and overnight. (at an extra cost).

3. Day 3 - Masai Mara Game Reserve

   • After breakfast, do a full day of game viewing drive searching for the Big-Five among many other wildlife species. In addition to wildlife, the Mara has lovely, varied scenery to enjoy. The vast plains and grasslands are also home to hundreds of bird species.

   Enjoy meals and overnight.

4. Day 4 - Masai Mara Game Reserve - Nairobi

   • Enjoy breakfast and check-out. You may opt to drive or take a one-hour flight (at an extra cost) to Nairobi.
   • Savour a farewell lunch at the carnivore restaurant.
   • Get dropped by your Kenyan guide-driver at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
