Visit Montalcino and St. Antimo
- Visit the wonderful medieval village of Montalcino, located at the end of the Val d'Orcia, about 45 km away from Siena.
- Visit the 14th-century fortress, built on the highest point of the village, a symbol of the defence of the Republic of Siena, before its definite fall.
- Walk through the most characteristic streets of the village.
- If you are an art lover, visit the Civic and Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art of Montalcino, inside the former convent of Sant'Agostino, dating back to the 15th century.
- After visiting Montalcino, head to Sant'Antimo Abbey, one of the most important Benedictine monastic complexes in Tuscany. The church has very ancient origins. According to the legend during the time of Charlemagne, in the 9th century, the Carolingian Chapel was built.
- Discover the centuries-old history of this place, where the Benedictine monks still sing today the Gregorian chants.
- Enjoy wine tasting in one of the many wineries in the area (on request).
