Visit San Gimignano Village
- The visit will begin at one of the main gates of the city, called San Giovanni.
- Going into the heart of the village, reach Piazza Della Cisterna.
- Afterwards, admire Piazza Duomo, the political and religious centre of San Gimignano, where stands the Palazzo Pubblico (city hall) and the Cathedral.
- The Palazzo Pubblico is the seat of the Civic Museum, which preserves in the halls Sala del Podestà and Sala di Dante, famous frescoes of the 14th century.
- From this ancient palace, arrive at the highest tower of San Gimignano (54 m), called Torre Grossa (Big Tower).
- The Cathedral still preserves the precious frescoes, depicted by Sienese artists in the 14th century.
- Continue the tour walking along the ancient streets of the village, where you can find craft shops and unique artists workshops.
- Arrive at the Church of Sant’Agostino, where you can appreciate the wonderful works of Florentine artists of the 15th century.
- Enjoy a breathtaking view, from the Rocca Montestaffoli (fortress), a Florentine bastion.
