Tour of Alpine Lakes and Scenic Vistas
- Our first stop of the day, after nearly 2 hours of crossing charming mountain villages, will be a brief 30-minute stop to admire and take a short walk along the shore of the crystal-clear waters of Lake Auronzo, which, thanks to the Marmarole mountain range, welcomes us to the Dolomites.
- Lake Auronzo is the largest lake in Cadore, covering an area of approximately 1.7 square kilometres.
- After a 30-minute journey, our second stop will be in the heart of the Dolomites, where we'll breathe mountain air. Lake Misurina is a natural alpine lake, the largest in Cadore.
- Lake Misurina is located at an altitude of 1,754 meters above sea level and is surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks, including the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
- The lake has a maximum depth of 5 meters and covers an area of approximately 0.14 square kilometres.
- During our 20-minute journey, we'll briefly stop to admire our third stop. Lake Dobbiaco is a small alpine lake surrounded by forests, mountains, crystal-clear waters, and a rocky beach.
- Lake Dobbiaco is located in South Tyrol, near the Austrian border.
- The basin has an estimated volume of 286,000 cubic meters and a perimeter of approximately 4.5 kilometres.
- In the fourth stage of our journey, after visiting Lake Dobbiaco, we will head to a viewpoint to see the Tre Cime di Lavaredo through a free telescope.
- In the fifth stage of our journey, after travelling another 20 minutes, we reach the extreme northeast of Italy, just a few kilometres from the border with Austria, to visit the famous Lake Braies.
- Lake Braies is known for its clear blue-green waters. It is surrounded by a spectacular landscape of imposing peaks, dense forests, and flowering meadows.
- The lake is 36 meters deep and is fed by numerous small streams that descend from the surrounding mountains.
- Overall, Lake Braies is a must-visit destination for anyone travelling to the Dolomites or South Tyrol. It offers a unique blend of natural beauty, outdoor recreational activities, and cultural heritage.
