Description

Rio’s highest peak, Pico da Tijuca (1022m – 3353ft) is located in the middle of the Tijuca Forest, and overlooks most of the city. It is also considered one of the best trails in Rio de Janeiro.

Our tour starts with a visitation to Taunay Waterfall (Rio's largest), inside Tijuca's Forest National Park.

It is one of the greatest Eco spots of Rio, covered by Atlantic Rainforest with beautiful flora and fauna and many waterfalls, rivers and lakes, caves, mountains.

The trail to Pico da Tijuca starts at the idyllic Bom Retiro, a place up in the park, and lasts no more than one hour to reach the summit. From there, we have a wonderful view of most of Tijuca's Forest, landmarks, besides the Maracanã Stadium, Guanabara Bay and a lot more.
