Chefchaouen is located in the Rif mountains in the northwest of Morocco. The city is painted blue and white and has become one of the most emblematic cities in Morocco. The name refers to the shape of the mountains that rise above the city, looking like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. "Chef Chaouen" means "look at the horns".
