Discover the varied daily lives of the locals and witness them make the most of available natural resources and adapt their lives accordingly. Also, observe or participate in traditional dances and festivities.

DAY 01

Arrival & transfer to Ngaoundere

  • Meet with the Cameroonian tour leader to receive a briefing of the entire itinerary before transfer to the train station for a night trip to Ngaoundere. (Another option is by road in an interurban transport bus if the train is not available.) 

  • Eat dinner on the train.

DAY 02

Lamidat

  • Arrive in Ngaoundere and transfer to a hotel for breakfast. 

  • Then, visit the Lamidat of Ngaoundere with its Mboum specific architectural building. 

  • Visit some quarters before returning to the hotel (city restaurant) for dinner and night stay at the hotel.

DAY 03

Depart for wangai

  • After an early breakfast, depart for Wangai through Poli. Cover half of the distance on the poorly tarred road before taking the earth road passing partially through Benue and the Faro national parks. 

  • Have a picnic lunch on the way. 

  • Arrival in the late after at Wangai at the palace for the first contact with the local population.

  • Return to Poli for the night. 

DAY 04

Meeting the locals

  • Very early departure to visit the local population (the Koma) at Wangai with their entire daily activities.

  • Return to the palace where you witness and participate in a local dance at Wangai.

  • Continue to Poli for dinner and night.

DAY 05

Return to Ngaoundere

  • After breakfast, bid farewell to the king and depart for Ngaoundere. 

  • Arrive in the late afternoon. Here, you can relax or roam around the town. 

  • Have dinner and stay overnight.

DAY 06

Bus to Bertoua

  • Transfer to the bus station and take the bus to Bertoua on a good road (the regional headquarter the East). 

  • Arrive late in the afternoon and transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 07

Head to Somalomo

  • Head for Somalomo through Messamana on your way to the equatorial forest. 

  • Upon arrival, you will be received by the local authorities. 

  • Check-in at a small local inn, Mama Rose, for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 08

Dja faunal Reserve

  • Spend the whole day at the Dja Faunal Reserve (UNESCO World Heritage Site) more especially with the pygmies and their mode of life. 

  • Return in the evening to the inn for dinner and night.

DAY 09

Transfer to Yaounde

  • After breakfast, drive on the earth road through Bengbis-Akonolinga crossing the second-longest river in Cameroon, Nyong, with a beautiful view of pineapple farms at Awae village. 

  • Arrive Yaounde late in the afternoon and check-in at your hotel. 

  • Experience the nightlife with local music and a fish barbecue dinner. (Optional)

DAY 10

Transfer to Bafoussam

  • Cross the towns of Bafia and Makenene with brief stops. 

  • Visit a typical Bamileke palace of Batoufam. 

  • Eat lunch in the palace. 

  • Explore the Baham traditional museum. 

  • Drive to Bafoussam for dinner and overnight in a hotel.

DAY 11

Transfer to Foumban

  • Depart for Foumban with a stopover at the river Noun bridge which marks the limit between the Bamoun and Bamileke tribes. 

  • Make a stop and a go for a small hike in the agricultural and cosmopolitan town of Foumbot. 

  • Have lunch and continue to a visit of a Fulani family of Didango. 

  • On arrival in Foumban, check-in at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 12

Explore Foumban

  • Drive to Rifem where the Bamoun leadership was designated before migrating to the present site. 

  • Return to Foumban where you visit the sultanate and the museum, the palace and handicrafts markets, 

  • Have lunch in a restaurant and do some shopping. 

  • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 13

Go to Melong or Douala

  • After breakfast, depart for either Douala or Melong driving through the Moungo corridor where large pepper, pineapple, banana, pawpaw, coffee, cocoa and the tropical flower plantations are located.

  • Arrive in Melong and spend the night in a guest house at the foot of mount Manengouba.
                                                                       OR

  • Arrive Doula and check-in at a hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 14

Departure

  • Head out in the morning for souvenir shopping and in the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner before a transfer to the airport for your return flight.

  • 1454 EUR Per Adult
  • Ground transportation in 4x4 jeeps or mini bus, train, common bus from Ngaoundere to Bertoua

  • Fuel and toll

  • All lodging in 2-3 stars hotels and an inn at Somalomo on full board basis
