Revelstoke

Funny how many towns were founded in the 1880’s as transportation and supply centre for the mining gold rush!  The Canadian Pacific Railway also set up operational offices in Revelstoke, which in turn promoted forestry in the region.  Once the trans-Canada highway was complete in 1962, tourists discovered Revelstoke.
Revelstoke is the gateway to two National Parks (Mount Revelstoke National Park and Glacier National Bank) and three Provincial Parks (Martha Creek Provincial Park, Blanket Creek Provincial Park, and Shelter Creek Provincial Park). Somehow it doesn’t seem fair that so much beauty is concentrated in one area.  But Revelstoke locals encourage tourists to “Come play in our parks”. And that means hiking, mountain biking and sightseeing amongst ancient glaciers, mountain streams and vistas like nowhere else on earth. Summer sees farmer markets and heritage walking tours for tourists. Come winter and getting out is all about skiing and snowmobiling!
Your Revstoke tour guide will recommend to you a relaxing dip in the soothing mineral waters of Revelstoke hot springs, all in pristine mountain and wilderness settings.
