Cornwall, fondly called the “Friendly Seaway City”, is located on the Saint Lawrence River, and is part of the Seaway Valley.  This easternmost city of Ontario is part of the engineering masterpiece; the St. Lawrence Seaway, which extends from the Gulf of St. Lawrence right into the heart of North America.  Watching an ocean going vessel being hauled in and out of a lock is quite an uplifting experience.

Cornwall has cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers.  The annual Lift Off festival features hot air balloon rides, carnival rides and live entertainment.    Cyclists can enjoy the 75 kilometers of waterfront recreational pathway with stop offs at beaches, waterfront parks and other tourist attractions such as museums.   A visit to the Upper Canada Village is a very popular attraction, in which costumed guides recreate an 1860’s community village with 40 historic buildings.
