Cape Peninsula, Penguins and Botanical Gardens
This tour can include visits to the following places:
Proceed to Clifton and Camps Bay, situated along the Atlantic Seaboard, and witness the beaches here. This area offers views of pristine white beaches and beautiful, clear waters that make these beaches a must-visit.
Continue to Hout Bay and take a boat to Seal Island as you explore the small fishing village of Hout Bay, often jokingly referred to as the 'Republic of Hout Bay' by Cape Town locals. It has the sense of being an entirely separate town. Enjoy beach views, delicious fresh seafood, bustling markets, and plenty of restaurants at this popular spot. See the thousands of seals that inhabit nearby Seal Island.
Visit Cape Point and trace the spectacular nature reserve in this area, one of the most famous landmarks in Cape Town. Situated at the very tip of the peninsula, with the Indian Ocean on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other, the area spans landscapes such as rugged cliffs and vast open spaces.
Stop at Simon's Town and the Penguin Colony, which is also the official seat of the SA Navy. It boasts a charming coastal town atmosphere rich in vibrant history. Find a thriving harbour, a toy museum, a navy museum, and plenty of other sights, including Boulders Beach. This beach is the only place in the world where you can swim alongside penguins.
Visit the quaint suburb of Kalk Bay, which runs along the main road here. With the False Bay coastline on one side and plenty of mountain scenery on the other, this area hosts many treasure troves ranging from antique shops to costume shops, bakeries, restaurants, and plenty more. The site is also excellent for whale watching during whale season, from June to November.
Proceed to Muizenberg, the world-renowned surfer's spot, where people from all parts of society join together to enjoy the wonders of the ocean. Shark spotters keep a lookout for potential danger roaming in the bay.
Explore Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, which offers visitors a haven of peace and serenity at the foot of Devil's Peak mountain. Let your senses roam free in the sights, smells, and sounds of this luscious forest.
