Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

   • Pick up from the hotel in Arusha and travel to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds.

   • Drive through the seasonal swamps, savannah and Tarangire River in search of zebras, wildebeests, lions, buffaloes, hartebeest, elephants, giraffes, waterbuck and reedbucks.

   Dinner and overnight stay at Sopa lodge, Tree Top Safari lodge or campsite.  

2. Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park

   • Travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120 km west of Arusha, home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.

   • Look for monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees with the Tanzanian safari guide.

   Dinner and overnight stay at Manyara Hotel, Serena Hotel, Eunoto Lodge, Kururumu Tented Lodge or Camp. 

3. Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Arusha

   • Check out from the lodge and drive via the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. 

   • Explore the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, almost 20km wide, approximately 600 m deep. Discover the large variety of wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The various springs found on the caldera floor attract animals such as wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks and more than 500 bird species.

   Depart for Arusha.
