Day 01

North Cappadocia Highlights and Avanos Pottery

• Meet your tour guide at your hotel and begin the tour.
• Head to Devrent Valley, where you can see many different rock formations and small fairy chimneys that create a lunar landscape with their unusual appearance.
• Continue to Paşabağ (Monk's Valley), where you will see some of the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia, with twin and triple rock caps. These formations are unique to Cappadocia and are known as mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys.
• Drive to Avanos, which is very famous for its pottery craft dating back to the Hittite period. The red clay comes from the residue of Turkey's longest river, the Kızılırmak.
• Watch a pottery-making demonstration, or try making pottery yourself.
• Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant and taste various kinds of Turkish cuisine.
• Proceed to the Open Air Museum. Churches, chapels, and monasteries carved into the fairy chimneys from the 10th to 13th centuries A.D. are among the highlights of the day, with frescoes painted on the walls. You will be able to take pictures to create lasting memories.
• Transfer back to your hotel at 17:00.
