Sign up for this hiking tour through Cappadocia's valleys, starting from Göreme. Hike through the valleys of Gemildere, Kiliçlar (swords), Zemidere, Baglidere, Kizilçukur and Güllüdere, pass through amazing villages, and enjoy panoramic views along the way. The trek also takes you to the rocky outcrop of Uçhisar and the beaten-track village of Cat, where you will see cliffs filled with pigeon homes carved into the rocks.

Day by day
Meet your tour guide at the airport and drive through Göreme, passing the Göreme Museum, to reach the plateau above the village.
Hike through the amazing landscapes of the valleys of Gemildere, Kiliçlar (swords), and Zemidere to the rocky outcrop of Uçhisar (1400 m), where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the area.
Overnight in a family pension in the village.
Duration: 5-6 hours of walking.
After breakfast, follow a track through the vineyards to see some of the most spectacular landscapes of the area in the valleys of Baglidere, Kizilçukur, and Güllüdere, continuing to the village of Çavusin.

Start with a drive to the beaten-track village of Cat.
Hike for 4 hours down through two U-shaped valleys. The cliffs lining these valleys are full of pigeon homes, several storeys high, carved out of the rocks, some decorated with paintings to attract the pigeons. Their droppings were used and sold as fertiliser.
Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.

Tips
Two bags: a small backpack for your daily needs and a bag with the rest of your things, which will be carried by minibus and will meet up with you every evening.
Warm clothes for the evening, 2-3 T-shirts, a light long-sleeve shirt against sunburn, lightweight pants and shorts, a swimming costume, a towel, a hat, a scarf (for dust), sunglasses, a personal medication bag, a torch and spare batteries, 1 or 2 canteens or a camel bag, a pocket knife, and toilet paper.
For walking: hiking shoes, a pair of gym shoes for the evening, and 2-3 pairs of towelling socks.
