The itinerary

Day 01

Early Transfer from Kigali and Hike to Karisimbi Camp

On the first leg of your hiking safari, you will be picked up by our driver-guide at 4:00 am. After a short briefing about the safari, you will embark on the approximately 3-hour road journey and arrive by 7:00 am.
You will be at the Kinigi Guest Information Center in Volcanoes National Park.
You will be assigned a ranger and then depart for the hike. Karisimbi is the tallest volcano among the Virunga Massif volcanoes, and as you hike, expect to enjoy beautiful and breathtaking views of the other volcanoes, for example, Nyiragongo and Nyamuragira.
To attain the greater height, you must be physically very fit. When you reach an altitude of 3,700 m, you will connect to the camp, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 02

Summit Hike, Descent, and Return to Kigali

Arise for an early breakfast at around 5:00 am and depart for the hike. You will arrive at the summit in about an hour's time, passing through thick forests and scenic views, including Mountain Muhabura.
After enjoying the summit and taking many pictures and videos, you will descend back to the starting point, where your driver-guide will be waiting to receive you. You will then go for lunch and thereafter hit the road back to Kigali, either to the airport or to your hotel, thus marking the end of your hiking safari.
