Itinerary
  • Visit Petra from Ammanexpand_more

Start the tour from Amman and reach Petra’s main site to learn more about its magnificent history. On arrival, leave your vehicle, and enjoy a 2-hour tour of this UNESCO Heritage-listed wonder with a local guide.

First, walk through the famous “Siq”, a narrow path of 1.2 kilometres; rock fissure that was once the main entrance to the city, and marvel at your first glimpse of the hauntingly beautiful Treasury “El - Khazneh” as the canyon suddenly opens up. Admire this rose-pink masterpiece, originally built to house priceless treasures and capture it on camera.

Then, walk through the widening canyon to witness other monuments such as the 3,000-seater Theater, the Royal Tombs, and the Byzantine Church. Listen as your guide describes how the Nabateans sculpted the buildings, and learn how they mastered the harsh desert conditions to make their lives here.

After around two hours of exploring, enjoy free time and lunch on your own expense. If time permits, you can climb up the Monastery on your own or the High Place of Sacrifice: a clifftop altar that was once used for animal sacrifices and other ceremonies.

Return to Petra’s entrance and rejoin your private vehicle and driver.

  • Arrive back in Amman for a sightseeing tourexpand_more

Free time at leisure in Amman downtown area for souvenir shopping in the local gold and spice markets. Pass by King Hussein’s Palace, where the late, revered king is laid to rest.

Your tour then concludes by strolling along “Jabal Al-Webdeih” and “Jabal Amman” Quarters, the Rainbow Street, Amman’s colourful arts and shopping hotspot. Delve into the upscale neighbourhoods of “Abdoun” and “Swefieh”, where luxury shopping malls and swanky private villas line the streets.
