Itinerary

1. Arrival in Helsinki

   Day 1 :
   

   Upon arrival at Helsinki Airport, find your driver in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name for a transfer to your downtown hotel.Depending on your arrival day, the rest of the is free at your leisure to explore downtown Helsinki.

   
   

2. Helsinki City Tour & Overnight Train

   Day 2 :
   

   Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and a relaxed morning before getting ready for a walking city tour of Helsinki.Your tour guide  will meet you at your hotel lobby at 10:00 AM and proceed on foot to visit  Temppeliaukio Church which is built into a rock base with a beautiful dome.Then continue to the Oodi Library where you can have a great view of Parliament House of Finland, one of the finest neo-classic building in Helsinki.We'll also pass by the Helsinki Central Railway Station which is the main station for commuter rail & long-distance trains departing from Helsinki, Finland.Then to the Senate Square situated in the oldest part of the city center, where you'll relish the view of the Government Palace, Helsinki Cathedral, Sederholm house and the University of Helsinki.

   Train station is centrally located.The tour will last around 4 hours and then you will be dropped at the train station.There are several restaurants at the station and many restaurants nearby.Your tour guide can give you detailed info about restaurants and how to get on the train.You will take overnight train on your own which is a sleeper train with 2 bed cabins.

3. Lappish Culture and Reindeer Safari

   Day 3 :
   

   Arrive at Rovaniemi train station in the morning and look for a sign with your name to meet your driver for the transfer to your hotel.Morning check-in is subject to availability.

   In the afternoon, enjoy the Lappish Culture and Reindeer Safari.Experience a traditional reindeer sleigh ride and take in the pristine scenery.Photography enthusiasts will find many photo opportunities along the ride and at the reindeer farm.Learn about the ancient tradition of reindeer herding from local farmers and enjoy feeding the reindeer their favorite treat, lichen.Warm up indoors with a hot drink and Finnish pulla (buns) before embarking on a pleasant sleigh ride through the beautiful landscape.

   On the way back, visit Santa Claus Village.Meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle.Explore souvenir shops, Santa’s Main Post Office, cafes, and restaurants.The Arctic Circle runs through the village, clearly marked, and you can even receive a certificate for crossing it.

4. Husky Sleigh & Northern Lights Safari

   Day 4 :
   

   Enjoy breakfast and a leisurely morning at your hotel before preparing for a husky sleigh safari in the frozen forests of Lapland.You will walk to the meeting point or safari office  from your hotel in the morning for husky safari.

   Escape the city and drive your own dog-team through the magical Lappish wilderness.The sound of panting huskies and snow crunching under your sled creates the perfect soundtrack for this adventure.This popular safari allows you to experience the thrill of running a dog-team firsthand.After the safari, spend time with the huskies, learn interesting facts about sled dogs, and take memorable photos.A warm yurt awaits you after the safari, where you can enjoy stories and hot berry juice.

   In the evening, embark on a three-hour Northern Lights Safari by car and foot.We will take you out during the prime time for Aurora sightings, typically between 21:00 and midnight.Learn about the Auroras and why they are visible only in the north.While you enjoy the pristine nature, our guide will prepare snacks and hot drinks at our outdoor camp.

5. Icebreaker Cruise

   Day 5 :
   

   Today, you will take the shuttle bus at around 07:00 AM and be transferred to Axelsviks Harbour near Kalix in Sweden for an Icebreaker cruise.

   The Polar Explorer tourist icebreaker offers a three-hour cruise in the frozen waters of the Bothnian Sea in Lapland.Witness the massive ice-breaking power of the vessel, take a guided tour from the engine rooms to the Captain’s Bridge, and enjoy an 11-minute film about icebreakers worldwide.The tour is available in 16 languages via an audio guide app.

   Relax in the cozy saloon with warm juice or walk on the frozen sea ice during the stop.The icebreaker creates a pool free of ice, allowing visitors to swim in the icy water in a flotation survival suit.The captain will present a Cruise & Swim Certificate as a memorable gift.

   Depending on the icebreaker program, the departure/arrival time may change.Lunch will be served onboard.You will arrive back at your hotel in Rovaniemi at around 5:00 PM.

   
   

6. Snowmobile Safari

   Day 6 :
   

   Enjoy breakfast and a leisurely morning at your hotel before getting ready for a snowmobile safari.After your pick-up, we will head to Olleronvaara, about 10 km from the city, where you can experience the wilderness and natural beauty of the area.We will take it easy, ensuring you are comfortable with the snowmobile, and make a few stops along the way.Feel free to ask your guide about snowmobiling or for tips on how to drive, unless you are busy capturing the Arctic beauty around you with your camera!

   The tour will end after the snowmobile activity around noon.From Rovaniemi, there are direct flights to Helsinki, Tromsø, and several other European cities.An extension from Rovaniemi to Tromsø or Kirkenes in Norway is also possible if you wish to continue your Nordic journey further north.
