Description

Experience excavating or mining your own amethyst gem and learn about all the stone’s mythical and magical properties of the Shamans.Located about 120km away from Rovaniemi city, Lampivaara is also within the Arctic Circle and has its own unique scenery with its primitive virgin forest.A place also known to the locals as a ski destination.You will ride the big snow pendolino (snow train) onto the top of Lampivaara to enter the Amethyst mine.Expect to hear real stories such as history, legends of the crystal and the ancient mountain from the Amethyst mine tour.On the way back to Rovaniemi we will stop by in the traditional hut and grill some sausages around the fire surrounded by the beautiful scenery surrounding Pyhä-Luosto national park.

Please Note

Operated in Rovaniemi each year from November 16 to April 12 next year (weather permitting).

The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 full paying adults’ price.

Duration includes the transfer and clothes changing time.Pick up service is included if the distance from pick up point to Rovaniemi city center is within 8km.Thermal overalls, winter boots, winter gloves and woolen socks are provided.

Meeting time of our safari is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services.

You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail.Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.

Please let us know in advance when you book the safari if you have special dietary requirements.(Eg: vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
