By tracing the footsteps of Anne Frank, from the time she lived in Amsterdam, the Secret Annex, and the tragic last months of her life to Westerbork, Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen we will not only learn about her short and important life, but also of thousands of other Jews, Dutch civilians and the German perpetrators.Going to these places and see them for yourself, accompanied with photos of those years, will put everything you know of these events in a unique perspective.As this is a private tour you can fully personalise the experience, keeping in mind the distances we need to cover.This will be a life changing experience.
Itinerary

Day 1 - Amsterdam
Day 1 :
Amsterdam
From your hotel we will visit Anne’s house and neighbourhood where she went to school, the bookshop and house of Miep Gies.Many stories of occupied Amsterdam are to be told in this part of the city.
We will then visit the Anne Frank Museum and secret Annex.In the afternoon we can go to the Jewish Quarters or visit other sites in Amsterdam.You can also choose to visit the city on your own.

Day 2 - Westerbork and Bergen Belsen
Day 2 :
We will leave early and make our way to Camp Westerbork, the transit camp from where almost all Dutch Jews were put on transport to Auschwitz and other camps.We have enough time to walk through the forest to the camp and visit this extensive site.We then make our way to Bergen-Belsen and walk around this very impressive and large site.Our hotel for the night will be close to this camp.

Day 3 - Berlin
Day 3 :
In the morning we drive to Berlin.Once there we have a choice to visit the holocaust memorialand the site of the Fuhrer bunker, the building where the Wannsee conference was held, and/or anything else we like to do in Berlin.

Day 4 - Berlin to Krakow
Day 4 :
Today we have a long but easy drive to Krakow scheduled.We should arrive towards the end of the afternoon.We will arrive in the late afternoon with plenty of time to discover some of the beautiful city of Krakow.

Day 5 - Auschwitz and Krakow
Day 5 :
We will take a one-hour drive through the country site to Auschwitz where we will visit the main camp and Birkenau.A local guide will show us the important places, and we will have a chance to walk around the camp ourselves.
For the afternoon we are back in Krakow where we can visit the Getto and Schindler’s factory and will leave enough time to visit the city centre as well.

Day 6 - Krakow to Pilsen
Day 6 :
To avoid busy Prague and break the long journey in two I suggest having a stopover in Pilsen, on our way to Nuremberg.A beautiful town to visit and relax a bit.
For the return journey we could alternatively take time to visit Prague, or return via Vienna and Munich.

Day 7 - Nuremberg
Day 7 :
A short drive to Nuremberg, the city which is symbolic both for the emergence and demise of Nazi Germany.We will at least visit the rally grounds where Hitler held his famous speeches and the courtroom where the top Nazis were put on trial after the war.

Day 8 - Nuremberg to Amsterdam
Day 8 :
It’s a long drive back to Amsterdam and on our way we will stop in Frankfurt at Anne’s birthplace, and Aachen where she lived for a little while before moving to Amsterdam.This way we have truly followed in the footsteps of Anne’s short live.
In Amsterdam I will book your hotel for your final night before going back home.
