Day 1: Moon Valley and Mars Valley Half-Day Tour / 5hs
1:30 PM – Arrival at Calama Airport
- Upon arrival from Santiago, meet your private driver and begin your journey into the heart of the Atacama Desert. Enjoy a scenic transfer of approximately 90 minutes to the rustic town of San Pedro de Atacama.
3:00 PM – Start of Private Tour
- After settling in, your afternoon excursion begins with a visit to Moon Valley, located in the Cordillera de la Sal. This surreal landscape features salt and clay formations sculpted by wind and water over thousands of years, evoking the surface of the moon.
Salt Caves and Amphitheatre –
- Your first stop is the Salt Caves, where striking salt concretions offer a glimpse into the region’s unique geology. Continue to the Amphitheatre, a vast natural rock formation. Take a walk through this tranquil setting and experience its remarkable acoustics.
Three Marias and Great Dune –

Death Valley (Mars Valley) –

Day 2: Red Rocks and Altiplanic Lagoons Full-Day Tour / 9hs
Departure from San Pedro –
- Begin your day heading south across the Tropic of Capricorn, ascending toward the vast altiplano. As the desert gives way to highland terrain, watch the landscape shift into a tapestry of ochres and blues.
Visit to Socaire –
- Arrive at the ancient village of Socaire, where pre-Inca agricultural terraces still shape the land. Learn about Atacameño traditions and the enduring connection between the local people and their high-altitude environment.
Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons –

Picnic Lunch in Nature

Day 3: El Tatio Geysers and Guatín Canyon Full-Day Tour / 9hs
- 5:00 – Start of Private Tour –
Departure to El Tatio –
- Begin your journey before dawn, heading into the high Andes to reach El Tatio at its most active hour. As the desert slowly awakens, the road climbs through silent valleys bathed in early twilight.
El Tatio Geysers Experience –
- Arrive at one of the world’s highest geyser fields, where steam columns rise dramatically against the morning light. Walk among bubbling pools and fumaroles, and optionally enjoy a soak in nearby thermal waters—an invigorating contrast to the crisp mountain air.
Breakfast Stop in Machuca Village –
- Continue to the traditional village of Machuca, home to llama herders and adobe dwellings. Visit its historic church and enjoy a rustic breakfast surrounded by timeless altiplano charm.
Putana Wetlands Viewpoint –
- Pause at the Putana Wetlands, a vibrant ecosystem nestled between volcanoes. Observe flamingos, Andean geese, and other highland birds in their natural habitat, framed by lush colors and reflective waters.
Guatín Canyon Walk –
- Explore Guatín Canyon, also known as the Valley of Cacti. Wander among towering cardón specimens—some centuries old—and admire the contrast between rocky terrain and resilient flora.
12:00 PM – Return to San Pedro & Lunch – 1.5 Hours (Approx)
- Head back to San Pedro de Atacama for a well-deserved lunch. Reflect on the morning’s high-altitude wonders as you enjoy your final meal in the desert.
3:00 PM – Transfer to Calama Airport – 1.5 Hours (Approx)
- Depart for Calama in time for your evening flight to Santiago, carrying with you the memories of geysers, wetlands, and ancient landscapes.
