Visas:

Most visitors to Egypt will require a tourist visa. You can obtain an e-Visa online before your trip or purchase a visa upon arrival at Cairo Airport.

Currency:

The official currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shops, but it's always good to carry cash for smaller purchases, especially in markets.

Weather:

Egypt has a desert climate. The best time to visit is during the cooler months from October to April. Summer temperatures can be extremely hot, especially in southern Egypt (Luxor and Aswan), where daytime temperatures can exceed 40°C (104°F).
