Day 01

Kathmandu to Lukla Flight and Trek to Phakding

  • Take an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla Airport, renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan views.
  • Meet your guide and porter in Lukla, prepare your trekking gear, and begin the trek.

  • Trek from Lukla to Phakding, passing through small villages, suspension bridges, and pine forests.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar Through the Dudh Koshi Valley

  • Begin the trek through the Dudh Koshi River valley.
  • Cross several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge.

  • Ascend steadily to Namche Bazaar, the main Sherpa hub and gateway to the Everest region.

Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and Hike to Hotel Everest View

  • Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude.

  • The Everest Base Camp trek presents a challenge, but it is also achievable if trekkers are well prepared and physically fit. This trek tests your stamina, endurance, and willpower.
  • The trail is not technically advanced, but the physical, mental, environmental, and infrastructural demands are high. During the trek, you will walk 130 kilometers.
  • As mentioned above, the trail is rugged and not flat. Uphill climbing is challenging for trekkers of all ages. On top of that, increasing altitude adds more pressure on you. With the rise in elevation, every step becomes tougher.
  • You will be challenged not only physically but also mentally. Then comes the roller coaster of emotions you may feel during the trek. You will have a lot of time to reflect on many things while trekking.
  • You will think about the good and the bad, and this will definitely make you emotional. There may be moments when you feel like giving up and returning. These are the moments when you have to push your limits and keep moving forward.
