Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kasese
- Pick up from hotel in Kampala after breakfast.
- Drive about seven hours with a stopover in Mubende for lunch.
- Arrive in Kasese and transfer to hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay in Kasese.

Day 2: Nyakalengija (1,646m) to Nyabitaba Hut (2,652m)
- Breakfast and transfer to Nyakalengija for briefing.
- Begin trek through thick montane forest.
- Cross the Mubuku River.
- Spot colobus monkeys and bird species.
Dinner and overnight stay at Nyabitaba Hut.

Day 3: Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut (3,505m)
- Breakfast at the hut.
- Descend through forest to Kurt Shafer Bridge over the Bujuku River.
- Ascend steep trails through bamboo and slippery rocks.
- Enter giant heather zone.
- Trek of about 7–8 hours with 854m elevation gain.
Dinner and overnight at John Matte Hut.

Day 4: John Matte Hut to Bujuku Hut (3,962m)
- Breakfast at John Matte Hut.
- Descend to cross the Bujuku River.
- Trek through boggy ground and Upper Bigo Bog.
- View Lake Bujuku, Mount Baker, and Mount Stanley.
- Dinner and overnight at Bujuku Hut.
- Trek duration about 4–5 hours.

Day 5: Bujuku Hut to Elena Hut (4,541m)
- Breakfast at Bujuku Hut.
- Ascend rugged western slopes of Lake Bujuku.
- Pass through Groundsel Gully with unique alpine flora.
- At trail junction, take steep route to Elena Hut.
- Dinner and overnight at Elena Hut near Stanley Glacier.
- Acclimatization for Margherita Peak climb.

Day 6: Elena Hut to Margherita Peak (5,109m) and Kitandara Hut (4,023m)
- Early start for Margherita Peak climb.
- Use ropes, crampons, and ice axes across glaciers.
- Reach the summit of Margherita Peak.
- Descend back to Elena Hut for short rest.
- Continue down to Kitandara Hut.
Dinner and overnight at Kitandara Hut.

Day 7: Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut (3,261m)
- Breakfast at Kitandara Hut.
- Ascend to Freshfield Pass with panoramic views of Mount Stanley and Mount Speke.
- Descend rocky trails and alpine forests.
- Arrive at Guy Yeoman Hut near Mubuku River.
Dinner and overnight stay at Guy Yeoman Hut.

Day 8: Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyakalengija and Transfer to Kasese
- Breakfast at the hut.
- Begin long descent through forests and valleys.
- Cross Kurt Shafer Bridge.
- Return to Nyakalengija where the trek ends.
- Transfer to Kasese for dinner and overnight stay.

- Breakfast at hotel in Kasese.
- Drive back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch.
- Arrive in Kampala by evening.
- Drop-off at hotel or airport.
