The itinerary

Day 01

Welcome to Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve

Arrive at El Puente and enjoy a box lunch before boarding a motorized canoe.
Journey 2-3 hours down the Cuyabeno River, spotting monkeys, birds, and river dolphins.
Settle into your Amazon lodge surrounded by jungle sounds.
Dinner followed by an introduction to the reserve and the upcoming adventures.

Day 02

Exploring Laguna Grande by Traditional Killa de Remo

Breakfast before setting out in a traditional killa de remo canoe.
Paddle 1.5 hours upriver to Laguna Grande through flooded igapó forests.
Spot orchids, butterflies, monkeys, and macrolobium trees.
Hike the Palma Roja Trail (approx. 3 hours) to see toucans, howler monkeys, and rainforest wildlife.
Enjoy a lakeside lunch, swimming, and a beautiful Amazon sunset.
Return for dinner and relaxation at the lodge.

Day 03

Nature Encounters and Community Traditions

Early birdwatching excursion at 6:00 a.m.
Take a motorized canoe ride downstream with wildlife sightings.
Visit Puerto Bolívar and meet a Cofan shaman for a traditional ceremony.
Enjoy lunch with the community and cultural immersion.
Visit the Siona community to learn cassava bread preparation.
Take a sunset canoe ride at Laguna Grande, followed by a night walk to spot nocturnal creatures.
Dinner at 8:30 p.m.
